Girls Varsity Ice hockey tryouts??

ok well im going to be a freshman next year and I really want to make the varsity hockey team at my new school...i played on the high school JV team in 8th grade and i was one of the leading scorers...does anyone have any tips for me in order to get in shape for tryouts??? THANKS!!

  1. Leg strength. You need to make sure that you can keep up with Seniors. If you can't, then you won't make Varsity. I suggest running, leg presses, stairs, etc.

    Upper Body strength wouldn't hurt either.


  2. Hey, I do this so much to get in shape for the season. girl ice hockey players pretty much own all. anyways. work on your endurance more thats key to keeping up. Start out with cardio and then do a circuit dealing with specific parts of the body (legs, arms, back,abs) *keep a strong core!). don't burn yourself out by  working every section every day. switching sections is important. please don't forget to stretch, the season hasn't even started and it would suck if you hurt yourself now. do a cool down. start out 3 times a week then move to four.
