Girls/Women - Would you rather get married and have kids... or have a career?

I want both.  Right now I'm concentrating on being a good mom.  Once I get my kids in school I can start using my degree.

Well I want I career more then I want kids but I think that's because I don't think I'll have enough time with a career. I want to become a vet and it's very important to me. I have thought about getting married and having kids, but if the right person doesn't come along, I don't know. At the moment I'd rather have a career.

I would rather have the career than get married and stay home all day with children. If that is my option.

However its 2008 thank goodness and I have a fiance and he wouldn't ask me to choose either/or. Its up to me. I asked him once what did he feel about this question and he said he always knew I was the type of lady who wouldn't be happy if I was a stay at home mom so he would not ask me to choose. We are only planning on having 1 child if we do anyhow.

I want and have it ALL.  I have a husband and five daughters.  The trick is to prioritize and to not sweat the small stuff.  Don't worry if the house is a bit messy or you get behind in the yard work.  Love your kids and spnd time with them while they are young because they are going to grow up and leave.  But remember to keep your husband as your main focus because he's the one that will be left when the kids will be gone.  Careers are fine if you don't care if you come home to an empty house but don't forget that as you get older and your friends start to die off or move in with their kids you'll still be alone.

I think it is more important to be a good (Obedient) wife and raise your children to the best of your ability. For those who chose to have a career more power to you, but I feel it is my place to raise my family. I feel like most of the problems in our society started when women left the homes and went to the offices. There are more young kids now than ever before getting pregnent, doing drugs and getting into all kinds of trouble that they wouldn't if they had a parent at home.
