I was shaving my legs the other day and i had gotten shave cream on my arm, and me being stupid, instead of rinsing it off, i used the shaver and took it off. Now i have a big spot with no hair on my arm! IT LOOKS SO STUPID! My mom told me me to just wait forit to grow back in because if i cut it all off, it'll just come back thicker. What should i do? Do you shave your arms? Should i just leave it?

  1. i shave my arms all the time! looks good and feels nice :)

  2. I would just leave it. But if you decide to do something else, wax the rest of the arm..don't shave.

  3. I shave my arms and it looks fine but if you do nto want to take that patht hen just wrap a bandage or athletic tape around your arm and pretend that you got an injury, it's not that big of a deal people wont all of a sudden change there mind about you once they see you have a patch missing in your arm

  4. Definitely wait for it to grow back. Just wear long sleeves until then

  5. omg LISTIN TOO ME DONT EVEN THINK ABOUT

SHAVING IT PLEASE LET IT GROW BACK LEAVE IT ALONE

OR GET IT ALL WAXED BUT DONT SHAVE IT.

you will have hair growing back like a man.!!

  6. leave it and once it grows back use hair lightener. i do nd it makes it light and practically invisible

  7. put a bandade on it until it grows bak

  8. I would take your mom's advice and let it grow back.

  9. leave it.

your moms right, it will grow back super thick.

    plus, shaven arms look gross.

  10. Don't shave your whole arms!  If you do, you either have to keep doing it FOREVER, or you're gonna end up with stubbly arms, and who wants that?!  And yes, it would grow in thicker.  Just leave that patch bald until it grows back.  If anyone asks, say something like you had a bandage or a piece of tape there that you had to rip off.  You could even use a light eyebrow pencil and draw on some hairs if it makes you feel better.

  11. Your moms right. Just leave it shaving your arm is gross mayb wax

  15. i shave my arms but when i do let it grow in it doesnt grow back thicker thats a myth

  16. Just leave it, it will be darker when it grows back but will soon get bleached by the sun and be the same as it was before.

  17. I have done both -- as in I have shaved my arms and I have waxed my arms.  My arm hair was (in the past -- teen, early 20s) very thick and dark.  I shaved for a while before I could afford to wax.

The idea that hair grows in thicker/darker on ANY part of the body (male or female) when you shave is a myth.  Shaving can not create more hair follicles.  Shaving can not change the color of the hair.

There's actually a decent reason that it's such a popular myth, though.  Shaved hair has a 'flat' end (think of it magnified til it's really big) like a new pencil that hasn't been sharpened.  "New" hair, or hair that has grown from the root, or re-grown after waxing, has a tapering end -- like a sharpened pencil -- but more gentle.  The tapering goes all the way down the hair, not just at the end (like a pencil).  The tapered end of an unshaved hair looks both thinner and lighter.  Hence, the myth.

Shaving your arms will not produce nasty effects.  If the patch bothers you, go ahead and shave.  If you wait, though, it probably won't be too long before it grows in.  You won't be (as my mom used to try and convince me) 'stuck' shaving your arms if you do it once.

I don't do either anymore...as I've gotten older (I'm in my 30s) either hormones, or the waxing, or something else has caused my arms to have a more "normal" amount/look of hair for a woman...so I don't do anything with my arms (hair) anymore.

    Good luck!

  18. Just leave it and put a band aid on it until it grows back and say you scraped your arm.
