Girls help, I'm tired of my bras losing shape.

I buy expensive bras, they do not have an underwire, the lining is slightly padded. ( they aren't padded bra's the kind that make you go up a size) No matter how I wash them, by hand or in the gentle cycle, the cups always get ruined. I put them on a drying rack, I try to reshape the cups, but after a few washings they lose their shape. The misshapen ones I wear only in the winter under heavier clothes, if I wear them with a t-shirt I look like I have a dent in my boob. Does this denting happen to anyone else?

  1. If you're getting a dent, your bra is too big.

  2. Yeah, this happens to my bras, too.  I always hand wash mine and hang them to dry.  And I also try to wash them as little as possible.

  3. I am not for sure if this will work for u or not, but hey its worth a shot. My aunt told me to only wash my bras in pillow cases because it helps them from not getting ruined. I have done it for the past couple of years and it has saved them a lot.

  4. Hmm I've never had that problem, I buy like, la senza bras that I machine wash normal and air (sometimes) machine dry and I've never had that problem, though I buy the ones with an underwire. I thnk the padding may be an issue, like how the padding in comforters shifts and gets lumpy when you wash them... I guess buy cheaper bras so you're not spending so much on bras that get ruined!

  5. I've never had a problem with the cups getting ruined from washing.  What brand of bra are you buying?  I like VS's Ipex full coverage bra.  I wash them in the gentle cycle (cold) and line dry.  They keep their shape forever.

p.s. I once had a very expensive La Perla and treated it like gold...but the straps streched out so badly it was unwearable.

  6. I try to wash my bras as little as possible, especially the nice ones. The less you wash them the less they get ruined. It sounds gross, but when you think about it how much do your b***s really sweat? As long as you put on enough deodorant then it really is no big deal. Also, another thing that helps is to actually buy a bra with under wire. You can't feel it and usually bras with under wire hold up longer. Hope this helps.

  7. dent?no show thru?yes lol

buy the BraBaby product it is like a plastic ball and you're supposed

to be able to wash them in that in the washer with no damage so it

will save you time as well

  8. I would switch to a different bra. I've never had this problem, usually the band gives out in mine.

  9. This happens no matter how much the bras cost.  They do now offer a "bra ball".  The inside of the ball pushes into each cup, snaps together, and then holds the bra in shape during the wash and dry.  Check the laundry options at Linens n Things or Bed Bath & Beyond.  Amazon.com also has several choices under BraBell.
