Girls... is it a turnoff when?

is it a turnoff if you are a better snowboarder then a guy you are dating?

for me, if I get up to the mountain and I am a better rider, I just can't look at him the same, and I can't date him anymore. anyone else have this problem?

Meh... it would give me motivation to push myself where she's better than me and stay ahead of her wherever I already am.  We can both learn from each other.

But that's no reason to dump him though. lol. Give the guy a break and have him buy you a drink or something.

I started young but I was terrified of everything.  But I eventually got used to it and I have a few years on most of my friends.  They picked it up pretty fast, but I'm still better.  They like having me around because I helped them smooth out a little of their basics.

One girl I know and ride with is probably the best I know in our school at our age level.  I'm from Jersey and Creek is close to an hour away.  That being said, neither of us can drive, so we ride whenever we can.  Whatever I can do, she's like a step below that or close to it.  Not very far behind.  She's of the the reasons I push myself.  I like being ahead.  Or getting better.

However, I really need to work on my pipe riding.  My pipe skills are just about nil.  It's not that my edges are too dull, I just don't like it, and I don't find it as fun as rails and jumps.  My cousin loves it though, but he doesn't like rails.  Go figure.

Edit: i dont know much about the situation or the guy but you shouldve at least given him a shot to get better... idk about other ppl but for me snowboarding came almost natually after the first few days and now i ride as well as some people who have been doing it for ten and ive only been boarding for about 2.... granted they have a bit more developed skillz in the park but im catching up

Edit: if it matters that much then just hang out in parks and flirt it up there.

hahaha i mean just cuz he isnt great at snowboarding doesnt mean he isnt a better athlete than you. maybe he snowboards a few times...gets the hang of it...and then he can carve way better than u. don't count him out right away

If dating a decent snowboarder is this important to you, you should surround yourself with snowboarders  ie. work at a snowboard shop.. or even move somewhere like Colorado or Vermont where non-riders will be less common.

What I think is a turnoff is when a guy talks up his skills and then come time on the mountain, he can't even get off the lift..

I know what you mean though, if someone you are into isn't into snowboarding... In those situations it sucks but you just have to separate the 2 an ride with the boys while ya man stays home 8)

i understand where you are comming from 100%.

i ride a lot (not as much as u though) and i do enjoy having someone who can keep up with me.

but sometimes it just isnt possible to find someone who enjoys snowboarding as much as i do.

if i find one, then cool i'll take it.

if i dont, then oh well, i still enjoy dating the guy, but maybe we wont go snowboarding.

what would you do if you dated someone in the off season and really liked them? come snowboarding season, just because they cant snowboard should not be the reason for a break up, especially if you both put so much into it.

i guess you just have to find yourself a serious snowboarder and stick with it.

I hope you accept being dumped when you want to date a guy who is better than you, at anything.
