Okay, so I started school today and I am afraid that I will get my period and I embarrass easily, and I want to know around when I will get my period so I know when I should expect it. I know that you can't tell me, but all I need to know is soon or not for a while or really close or kind of far...

I have hair down there, I have been getting quite a bit of discharge, I am 5 feet tall, I am a size 34AA, I have been getting occasional cramps(every other day for about 30 minutes) and I keep snapping at my father and I NEVER do that, like if I burn my finger on something hot and I say 'Ow!' and he says 'Is it hot?' and I say 'Of course not. It's FREEZING. Duh.'

Can I have an estimate?

  1. its sounds like your getting your period. you better bring tampons just in case/

  2. Hey Lemonslice

I expect that your period isn't too far away. From experience, I'd say that it'll be due either like today, tonight or maybe later this week. As advice, i'd say that you should take some period pads to school in your bag, and that you check in the toliets regularly (maybe each breaktime) so that you will be prepared for when it comes.

    Good luck

    xx

  3. KEEP PADS ADN IBUPROFEN WITH YOU AT ALL TIMES!!

    GOOD LUCK

  4. well i just got mine yesterday im 14 umm it depends how old u are and when u do get its and there is brown on ur underwear  then its dry blood its ur period so bring pads just in case and wear black pants to school

  5. It seems your body is developing and I think you are well on your way to menustration.  I would be prepared for it to happen at any time now.  Carry wipes, an extra pair of panties and a few pads with you so you will be prepared if it does happen at school.  And if your locker allows you might want to have an extra pair of pants with you.

My daughters got their first periods when they woke up in the morning.  Hopefully you will too and can handle it better.

I know how embarrassing this is to a young girl but later you won't think much about it.

  6. why dont you wear a thin pad to school because if i remember correctly when i first got my period. i couldnt tell until it was too late and you dont wanna drench your clothes in blood. gross but it happens. this might ease your mind.  as you get more periods you can sorta feel it coming on.. yes. cramping does come before or during your period some time so its safe to say you might be getting yours soon.

  7. tampons and MIDOL is what you need to keep with you. sounds like PMS like you are deffinately about to start.

  8. unfortunately there is no way of telling when u will get ur period. even if u have all the other symptoms of puberty. some women dont get their period until they r 18 years old! if u r worried about starting it soon stash some pads in ur backpack or purse and wear pantyliners

  9. Clearly, companion cube...

  10. I think that while your in school or out you should wear a light pad and bring extra's just to be safe (you can get away with wearing a pantyliner at home because you can get to the bathroom easier).  If it's possible try to go to the bathroom at school a few times just to be safe.  When I was your age I had a couple of really close girl friends that would do the "check", when we were leaving class if one of us was expecting or on our period the other would get up behind us as we were leaving and check the back of our pants to make sure we didn't leak (sounds weird but it saved us from embaressment).  I don't think you should try tampons just yet though as you are still yound and they really aren't good for you.  And if you do decide to use them make sure you use the lightest ones possible and change them often.
