  14. Okay, so I'm not a girl.  But I thought you might want some info on some really cool girls who are making a pretty big splash in the chess world.  Go here:

    http://polgarchess.com/

You will meet Judit, Sophia, and Susan Polgar.  They are master class chess players who have also competed in men's chess and won!  They should be an inspiration for young girls everywhere who are interested in chess.  These are 3 sisters from Hungary, but Susan now teaches in New York.  I have purchased Susan's excellent book, Chess Tactics for Champions and also her DVD series, Playing Chess The Easy Way.  I highly recommend both.  My game improved dramatically after having read just the first few pages of her book.

I am a happily married 52 year old and every girl I ever dated either knew how to play chess or let me teach them.  Chess always enhanced my relationships with them and my wife and I love the game very much.  I would encourage all girls to learn the game as I think it will add a great deal of joy to any relationship with guys who also play.  There is just something very s**y about a woman who plays chess.  I'm so glad I married one!
