I have noticed that like a day or two before I am supposed to be on my period, I get up in the morning and take a shower and for some reason right when I am in the shower I get these REALLY bad cramps like in my lower back I have to get out of the shower even if I am not done and go lay on my bed. They hurt so bad. Does that happen to anyone or is it just me? Like ill be fine until I am in the shower and then it goes away after...is this period related or am I just weird? lol

  1. pain in you lower back just before your period  can be lots of things the fact that it comes just before your period could just be your bodies reaction. I think you should go and see your doctor because lower back pain can also be kidney related because if you have any kidney problems you get a pain in your lower back. I hope this helps.

  2. Yeah, it depends on the temperature of the water. If it's nice and warm... It feels nice.

  3. yess. it is def period related. periods suck and will do all sorts or things to you. my friend gets cramps in her back and went to the doctor and he said it was def her period. dont worry =]

  4. That is normal. A lot of people have cramps before getting their period and that is how they know that their period is about to come. I don't have cramps on my back, but I have it right below my stomach and yes it does hurt so bad that all I want to do is lay on my bed and sleep until the pain goes away. Don't worry, it's absolutely normal.

  5. Your period stops in the shower im pretty sure. if you have such bad pains take Midol.

  6. i think every girl is different like my mom  back and stomach hurt so bad that she can t get up and like moans

but me its like a mediun/small pain in the lower stomache

  7. could you possibly be pregnant?  because if this only happens in the morning it could be morning sickness which is a early sign of pregnancy and also pain in your lower back is a sign too.  if its not that then you are probably just having before symptoms of your period. if it consists see a doctor.

  8. lol.

well this happens to me, but not in the shower:]

you should try laying on a heating pad though. it really helps cramps go away.

  9. it's probably the hot water, no biggie. try midol, the oc and ice cream :)

  10. Oh, yeah, that's totally normal!

    I get it too. :)

If it's really painful though you should go see your doctor.

  11. maybe its period related

  12. omigoshh they hurt SOOOO bad. i get that every time.

all i can say is invest in some Midol, Aspirin, or Advil

all of those will work to make cramps go away for a little bit

  13. This exact same thing happens to my cousin. Well, it used to before she started using the nuva ring. She had to lay in bed for days though because she would also throw up and get a fever each month. She said that this has all gone away since she first started using the afore mentioned ring. Even if you're not sexually active, talk to a doctor or if you can, a gynecologist. They can see if it can help your hormones.

  14. Yes my lower back will hurt me sometimes. I will have to lay down on my bed for a little while. It is just period related. If you are still worried you could go see a doctor. In fact it just happened a couple days ago. It goes away in a few minutes.

  15. i get some before my period but not that bad. i do get ones that bad during it, but only super bad on weekends for some weird reason and when i am laying down relaxing.

  16. it happens to me too.

honestly i don't think its anything to worry about.

you period can cause alot of stress and make yo muscles tighten then when you take a hot shower the muscles relax which can be painful.

  17. maybe you have a lot of tension in the area from sleeping thats my guess cause your prolly stretching it in the shower (why girls only?)

  18. I was always lucky and never had really bad cramps. Never in my lower back either.  I would check with a doc.

  19. no...but everyone's different. for example, my ribs start paining me sometimes.

    it depends on the person!!

  20. no i dont get any

    sorry

  21. it sounds normal to me but if you are worried see an obgyn

  22. The Hot Shower helps me when I am having Cramps.  I'm not sure what could be going on with you.  Sorry  xox

  23. yeh its something about the warm water i think when ur on ur period they say to take a warm bath to soothe you to slow down the bleeding msbye it has an opposite effect on you try making the water really really warm

  24. i think thats normal

    help?

  26. period related and it happens to many women

  27. that happends 2 me

ALOT i went to my DR. and asked if it was and he said yes. its cause the worm water loosens ur stumic muscles and it pushes on ur intestenc. so try to take a cooler shower next time

  28. interesting.

i think everyone has weird things like that. my period wakes me up at 3 in the morning every 28 days and as soon as i run to the toilet and sit, it starts.

if it's really bad, like debilitating, i'd see the doc. but i do have friends that only cramp in their lower back, just not the whole shower thing.

  29. It seems unusual because it only starts to happen once you're in the shower. Even if you're young and not sexually active, it's still a good idea to see a gyno every now and then. They really can answer those kinds of questions, even if you don't want the exam. I'd get a professional's opinion. Believe me, they've heard of MUCH weirder things...

  30. your just weird

lol aw I'm totally kidding ha ha i just thought it was funny how you put that at the end. anyway ive never had severe cramps before but when i do they are always in my stomach. lower back pain on the sides usually points to kidneys problems! blah blah I'm sure you expect this answer but the only way to know for sure is to ask a doc.! good luck :]

EDIT- haha and for the person who says your period stops in the shower. NOT TRUE! your period does not stop in water. if your wearing a tampon the water can get in a slowly flush away some of your period, but in no way does it stop so dont fall for that!
