Girls riding dirtbikes?

Question

Ok, I received an email from someone telling me how much of a loser I am to ride dirtbikes. What are your opinions on girls who ride dirtbikes? Either way I enjoy riding and will continue to do so regardless of somebody elses thoughts, but I was just wondering for the fun of it.

There is nothing wrong with Girls riding dirtbikes.  That must have come from a boy/man who feels threatened by you, that feels you are a better rider than he is.  If it came from a Girl, then she is ignorant.  Don't let anyone stop you from doing what you love, I ride a motorcyle and drive a 4 x 4 SUV, I love shooting and other "manly" things.  There is nothing wrong with us women doing "man" things, since they are not "man" things at all.  Remember the saying, "Anything you can do I can do better!"  

Don't worry about it, and keep on riding!

.....And these people are considered your friends that called you a loser?

They are just jealous, because riding dirt bikes is the way that you have fun and there is nothing wrong with girls riding motorcycles(any kind), My wife rides dirt bikes and I'm training a couple of girls to do freestyle motocross.......Don't worry about those "so called" friends of yours. If they think your such a loser then why does their boyfriends think your so cool.

Its really funny you happen to mention this because this VERY WEEKEND happens to mark a new chapter in girls on dirt bikes.

Tarah Geiger is one of the fastest women on a dirt bike there is today.

She is the first woman EVER to ride at the MXoN (Motocross Des Nations) held this weekend at Budds Creek, Maryland.

Just in case your not familar with the MXoN, heres a quick run down.

3 riders are selected from each country around the world. The 3 riders act as a team and the best combined score overalls the race and basically is the world champion. Think of it as the Olympics of Motocross.

Tarah is riding on the Pureto Rico team and is the only girl racing against 120-130 other men.

Major props to her for a major accomplishment.

I was trail riding with my dad one day and a guy in our group told me that I shouldn't be riding dirtbikes.  He said "It's like driving a corvette through the woods..."  Whatever that means.  He also went on to say that the only reason his daughter rode was to pick up guys and that she wasn't a great rider.  Other guys have made comments to me before about it too.  I try to just brush it off, and then I make sure that I make them look bad later, hahaha.

But honestly, I don't ever say anything about being able to ride unless someone mentions that they are going to go riding somewhere, then I ask if I can tag along.  My riding skills usually get the guys to shut up.

I started riding because it was something that I could do with my father.  I don't do it for any other reason.  So unless someone has riden with me before, or seen my dirtbike in the garage, then they don't know I ride.  I don't care who knows or what they say to me.  It's something I enjoy doing.

I wouldn't worry about other people, probably just jealous anyway.  Who cares.

I love riding my dirtbike, it's a way to really cut loose and have a good time. If a guy is telling you that then it means he knows your better at it and just feels threatend, just ignore him
