i haven't seriously played tennis before but i'm a freshman and i was thinking about joining the team this spring. I was just wondering if you've ever done it how much you liked it, and if you can join the team and do any good without very much prior experience in tennis? if you didn't (or did i guess) play tennis in highschool what sport would u reccomend for spring?

  1. hi! I just graduated high school and played tennis from freshman year through my junior year. I never played prior to my freshman year either. As long as you go to practice and care about the sport, you will do great. It is easy to get the hang of and fun. I became great friends with my team and I still talk to a number of those people today. I got onto the Varsity team when I was a sophomore but how quickly you move up to varsity depends a lot on the number of people on the team.

I really liked tennis and I miss it a lot. I think you should do it. You will make great friends and have a lot of fun times and memories. I also think it is a great sport if you have never done any other sport because it is so easy to learn and become decent at! good luck! =)

  2. I played tennis all four years of high school and absolutely loved it!  I had played a little bit prior to high school, but nothing serious.  My freshman year i was on JV and then i was on varsity every year after that. I learned really quickly and took private lessons for a couple of years.  It's definitely a great sport to pick up if you've never played before. You'll really enjoy it!

  3. You should join the tennis team!! And thats GOOD if tryouts are in the spring becasue then it gives you the time to practice, you kno? Soo start practicing and I am sure that there are no better sports to play besides TENNIS! TENNIS is the worlds best sport!! I have been doing it for a long time, and I have always loved it and never ever thought about quitting, I would never want too becasue I love it soo much and its perfect for me! It will be for you too just start practicing and you will make the team! =]

  4. It just depends on the strength of your team as to whether you v]can make it with your amount of experience.

I say, go for it!  I played in high school and it was great fun.  I loved it.  Mostly the camaraderie with my teammates.

  5. I am only in 5th grade, sorry! :) I play tennis 5 days a week with my dad. We pla 1 match. I go to coaching 2 times a week. I think you should join the High School tennis team. Good Luck!

  6. i'm a sophomore and i played tennis last year as a freshman for my highschool on junior varsity as opposed to varsity (there was no freshman team). i had taken a few lessons before, but i was at the bottom of the list. the thing is, they chose me to be on the team. i think they're looking for girls who are determined and will try their hardest, because they really want it. after all, they're there to teach and coach you! i learned a ton over one season of playing, and now i'm sure i'll make the team this year. if you look like you're just there to talk to your friends or get credit for a sport, they won't choose you. take some lessons before you try out for the team, and when you do try out, make an effort to show them you'll do anything to be on the team (even if you won't). good luck, hope i helped! i also suggest trying out for another sport in the same season, just in case you don't make the team for tennis... how bout track?
