Last night i was at a pool party and of course a few other girls started talking about how they wanted to lose weight and a few others started bragging about how skinny they were. This girl Kayla would not stop arguging w/ this girl Mandy about who was skinnier and we ended up having a contest to see who was skinnier and had the lowest weight. There was a digital scale in the basement so each of us started to weigh in to see who had the lost weight. OMG i was shocked at how low some weight were and i felt terrible about mine. I weighed 121 lbs but im only 5'0. Some of the other girls weighed 102, 107, 103, 97, and the lowest was Kayla who weighed a crazy 94.2 lbs everyone was shocked. These girls were not short either. For instance the girl who was 97 lbs was 5'6...so we are talking very thin. Of course the guys thought this was great but i felt terrible. I definitly want to start losing weight to try to get down to the low 100s esp for my height. It was the worst feeling getting on that scale infront of everyone and having the highest weight. I thought i was going to weigh around 112 and i was way off. Has anyone experienced this before or something similiar where a bunch of girls were comparing weight? If so were you one of the skinnier girls in it? How skinny were the ones u saw comparing like what weights? I was just shocked at how skinny they were and it was offiicial weights. Whats some of the lowest weights u seen or heard a girl weighs?

  1.      im 5'1 right now and a 100 pounds. I still feel fat all the time even thoe my weight is lower then it used to be. When you lose the weight youll probably still not feel thin like i dont. so i say aim for the ninties cause thats where i want too be. And theres website i think its called something like weightlook.com it shows what you'll look like when u lose ten, fifteen, or even ninty pounds. try it, it could probably give you confidence and urge you to excersize.

  2. go on the internet a choose some of the hottest women's photos--I guarantee none of them weigh 97 pounds...another factor is muscle---muscle weighs more then fat. You can weigh alot more then another girls and be a much smaller size if your in shape.

I started working out years ago BECAUSE I was too thin---it's really not attractive...I wanted some curves and putting on muscle is nicer because it's solid...

Here's an artcle from 1993 talking about the waify modes that had come into fashion about that time...Kate moss was 100 pounds at the time:

  3. I can tell by all the drama that you are either in high school or younger.

Weight doesn't matter, so don't worry about those girls and what they way. Being 95 pounds is disgusting and unhealthy and having a weighing-in party (essentially) is extremely unhealthy.

If you want to lose weight for yourself, and not because of what other people think of you, just try eating healthier and only eat when you are hungry. Try working out more than you do (or if you don't, try working out a couple times a week to start off).

3500 calories equals one pound, so if you eat less and burn more calories, you could lose 2 pounds a week (HEALTHILY).

Don't cut your calorie intake to less than 1200 a day because you will start losing muscle instead of fat. And start out with cardio, like jump rope or jogging. If you start doing sit ups right away, you are going to tone your fat instead of your muscle.

Once you know you are taking care of your body, you will feel better about yourself. You will look better and you will feel better. And you will be healthy, not end up with an eating disorder, which I am pretty sure these other girls will develop if they don't already have one.

Once you lose, say 5 pounds, celebrate by buying yourself some nice clothes, or going out somewhere nice.
