Ok so i'm 15 and i'm going to join the school swim team soon..but the problem is girls MUST wear tampons --they cannot get excused for being on their period unless they're having really, really bad cramps.

So the thing is my doctor recently got my mom convinced to allow me to use tampons (she and my dad didnt allow because they thought i wouldnt be a virgin). So my mom has never used one and doesnt know how to [i dont want to ask her for help either]

I dont know where my v****a is. i've tried using a mirror but i dont really know if im looking at it and not realizing its my v****a..i'm on my period now and my mom just bought me a box of "tampax pearl plastic : lites" i read the instruction and still dont know really what to do..

please help! any suggestions / advice is appreciated.

  1. Just feel around, you'll find it...

  2. the tampons have instructions with little pictures telling u what to do but you have to know where your v****a opening is so u know where to put the tampon in. try just feeling around until u find the opening and then follow the directions from the box. and if its your first time using tampons i would try the slim fit type first.

  3. sit on the toilet with your legs really far apart, and just LOOK. pull apart the flaps of skin, and its the second hole down. the first is your pee hole, then your vag, then your p**p hole. its the middle one. mirrors help too if you want one. So separate the folds of skin until you know where your v****a is, then have a tampon ready. Put the applicator in pretty far until your fingers touch your body, then push it, like, push the tampon in. Then pull the applicator out, and the string will be hanging down. :) it usually takes a couple of times to get it right! if its uncomfortable, its because its in wrong, or not in far enough. When you're puttin it in, aim towards the middle of your back. and the tampax pearl are GREAT to start out with! those are what i use. :) if it doesn't work the first time, take it out and try again. it might take a couple of times. but don't give up... you'll get it eventually! just be sure to take out and change your tampon at least every 6 to 8 hours, if not earlier..!

    good luck! :)

  4. Get a small hand mirror and sit on a toilet, spreading your legs so you can see everything. There should be a small nub of flesh at the top - this is your clitoris. Two lips (size varies hugely) of skin come down from these, called your 'inner labia'. Follow downward with your finger, the next thing you come to should be a very tight hole.

Since it doesn't seem as if you've ever been penetrated with anything, it will probably be very tight and not even seem like a hole at first. You might be able to push your finger further in, though it might be uncomfortable. That is your v****a.

To insert a tampon, relax and breathe. Take the tampon (junior or slim size, for the first few years at least) and slowly push it into your v****a, while sitting on the toilet. Try and follow the same direction your v****a does, you'll see it tends to curve in a certain direction.

Make sure you're relaxed ~ you'll only hurt and frustrate yourself if you're tense and your muscles are clamped down.

Push it in as far as you can, or up to just about the full length of your index finger, whatever comes first. Make sure the string is sticking out, and you can't feel the tampon when you stand/sit afterwards. If you mess up, just pull it out (be slow but firm, even if it feels like it won't come - though waiting for it to become saturated for a few hours helps it come out better) and try again soon, when you're a bit wet again. Being too dry can cause discomfort.

    Good luck ~

  5. just feel around for the "hole" and once you find it, it should go in fairly easy. its in the same area that you urinate out of.

  6. okay relax

im me on sepidehcas@yahoo.com on yahoo messengers (like im) so i can explain to you one on one!

  7. http://www.beinggirl.com/en_US/home.jsp

This is a GREAT site for those kind of slightly embarassing questions.

  8. Put you right leg on a closed toilet seat.  Feel for your v****a in the center  Take the tampon and put in your v****a with an angle toward your back end  In other words slightly tilted towards your back end. Then push, Your v****a has no nerve endings  It is just a canal.  You will not break anything.  A tampon is not the size of a hard p***s pushing when having  sexual intercourse. Both of your parents are ignorant  so therefore you shall not be ignorant like them.  Just do it ...Read instructions and just do it. Love your parents but accept there ignorance. You do not have to be that way...

  9. i guess all you can really do is to try and feel it out, sure it may sound kind of gross but i think it would be the best thing to do, when i started using tampons i was just like WTF, and i kept reading the instructions over and over again.  I'm sure you will be able to find it, once you do find it you will look back and laugh

  10. http://tampax.com/howtouse.php

tells u all uneed to no.

  11. go on the site provided on the box. or when you open the tampon put the side where the tampon comes out near your vaginal area slide it along until you find an opening * between the two flaps of skin * and just push it in.  and you are gunna need a heavier absorbency than lites... as your period gets heavier you will need a heavier absorbency... as in when is at its heaviest then use supers... when its just regular then use regulars... if its in between the two than use heavy (or whatever the brand that you use calls it) and when its at its lightest then use lites. i had almost the same prob but my friends used them and my older cousin who is like my sister uses them so i asked her. oh and i suggest playtex gentile glide... the non scented kind.

i hope this helps and good luck, you will soon realize once you get the hang of using tampons that they are soooo much easier!

  12. That's a good kind to start out with.

So, you've read the directions.  I suggest the mirror thing.  Just get a handheld and make sure you wash your hands first.  Then kind of feel around and look around down there.  You'll find it.

Try putting in a tampon when you just get out of the shower, that way you're wet and it'll be easier to insert.

If you need to, put a little lubricant on the tip to make insertion easier.

Make sure you RELAX.  This is so incredibly important.  Tight muscles make it impossible to get anything your v****a.  Just remember that using tampons is no big deal, nothing to be worried about.  So just relax.

Try different positions, like squatting or putting one foot on the toilet or tub.

Aim it toward your lower back, not straight up.

Chances are you won't get it the first time.  Practice makes perfect.  But make sure you don't try one after another after another.  Take breaks.

    It'll get easier.
