  2. OOh you are staying in a fantastic area Covent Garden - handy for everything really - sightseeing wise Covent Garden itself (for sightseeing/shopping/dining), Picaddilly Circus if you walk one way, and Leicester Square and Trafalgar Square if you walk the other with Embankment and Houses of Parlaiment and Big Ben beyond.

Sightseeing hop on the tube to:

St James Park Tube for Buckingham Palace,

Gloucester Road for Natural History Museum, Embankment/Westminster for Houses of Parlaiment and Big Ben,

Tower Hill for the Tower of London,

    Regents Park for London Zoo.

Hyde Park Corner for Hyde Park

St Pauls for St Paul's Cathedral

    Shopping wise - Oxford Street/Regent Street/Covent Garden,

Sloane Square on the District or Circle line west bound for Kings Road - fantastic shops.

High Street Kensington for Kensington High Road - full of shops there.  Knightsbridge for Harrods,

Camden Town on the Northern Line for Camden Market,

Notting Hill Gate for Portobello Road (Camden and Portobello offer quirky shops and market stalls for unique stuff.

Of course don't forget stuff like the London Eye, Tower Bridge, Boat Rides on the Thames, Open Top Buses to catch everything in one go etc etc gosh I could go on and on - I hope you fit loads in and enjoy your visit!!

    xx

  3. You must go to the Jimmy Choo Shop at 18 Connaught Street.

It's nice and quiet over there.  Quaint little shop, GREAT shoes!

  4. Hmmm....marble arch, bond street, oxford street, tottenham court road...covent garden is also pretty cool....leceister square...and definitely camden town / camden market if you like the quirky.

  5. If you like markets then Portobello Road which is a 15 -20 min tube ride away from Covent GArden is very cool...lots of celebs go there...Camden Market in Camden is fun...Spitalfields market is good too....google them all to find out what days they are...ooh I boat trip up the Thames is great too...you see loads.

  6. I work in the west end, so know it well.  I have got to say, I avoid Oxford Street like the plague as it's very busy and scruffy and to be honest most of the shops there I can look at in my local shopping centre.  Carnaby Street is excellent for smaller boutiques like Miss Sixty, Pepe Jeans etc, as is Covent Garden (especially Long Acre and Neal Street!).  There is also a few vintage places around there.

I would also say, try to get the tube as little as possible, London is smaller than you think and you'll stumble over more sights, nice shops, bars and restaurants well out of the tourist trap if you do that.  As for for bars and restaurants, depends what sort of thing you are in to!  But try to steer well away from the crappy tourist places and chain places.  London is so much better than that if you look hard enough.

Let me know if you want me to draw you up a list of places to visit, I would be happy to do it.

  7. OMG HOW JEALOUS AM I!!

defo oxford street and for a bit of expensive window shopping bond street, u have to visit Abercrombie and Fitch on Saville Row off Bond Street if even for the hot semi naked models, although its slightly tricky to find!

u shoudl definitly go on the tour bus which leaves u at every single sight in london, u can hop on and hop off for 24 hours which could pretty much work as your entire transport for the guts of two days. If you want a good laugh you should go to the london dungeons, its SO funny, the tickets are expensive but you can get more than half off if you buy the tickets from the bus tour company which is very good. theres literally so much to see and do so you should make the most of the days and try get up early

  8. Oxford Street for all the main shops.  Oxford Street runs from Marble Arch to Tottenham Court Road.  There is also Bond Street which runs from the centre of Oxford Street.

    Harrod's is at Knightsbridge.

Some good shop^s and restaurants on Kensington High Street as well.

    Have fun!!!

  9. For shopping, you can't beat Top Shop in Oxford Street. Harrods is unmissable, just for the experience of walking round and spotting the celebs! Selfridges in Oxford Street is also very good. Covent Garden is wonderful too. The London Eye is great for the views, and Wagamamma is a fun place to eat [there are loads in London].
