Arsenal’s Olivier Giroud has admitted that filling in the hole left at the Emirates by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robin-van-Persie-c31380 is no easy task, but he also stated that he would try his best to try and overcome the gap left in the side by the Dutch striker’s departure.
Van Persie went on to move to Manchester Untied at the start of the season, and this resulted in many people wondering just who would lead the line for the Gunners.
Giroud came in to do just that, but so far this season he has managed to score only seventeen goals in all competitions.
Now this tally falls rather short of the thirty seven that Van Persie scored for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 in his final season, but it is better than the record that the Dutchman had in his debut season for the North London club.
At the same time, it is rather easy to see that Giroud is looking to improve as a player as the days go by, with him going into training to learn something new every day. At the same time, he has managed to score a few important goals for the team this season,
and his hold up play up top has been quite simply outstanding.
When talking about his move to the team, and the difficulties which he has faced with him being compared to Van Persie, the French international is reported to have said: "When you replace Van Persie, people are demanding of you"
"Criticism has not always been deserved but I'm focusing on what I have to do.”
"I have progressed every day in training. I'm enjoying every day and I want to keep going.”
"http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/England-c749? This is what I aspired to, with its atmosphere and intensity. Every weekend I play in big games - that's what makes the difference. It's really part of their culture."
Many feel that this season was one where the striker was coming to terms with the pace of English football. With him now having spent a season to adopt to it, it is a wonder as to what he will be able to do in the coming season.
