Arsenal’s striker and French international, Olivier Giroud has gone on to admit that he is not worrying about his goal scoring situation at the North London club, and is quite happy with the way he has kicked things off for the team.
Giroud arrived at the Emirates in the summer, for a fee that is believed to be around twelve million pounds. The striker was expected to make a big impact at the club right away, but so far he is yet to score his first goal for the team.
The forward was brought in off the bench in the game against Southampton, but once again, he failed to score a goal for the team.
When talking about how he was feeling at the moment, and just what he thought of his lack of goals, the towering striker went on to state: "I found my first few weeks of integration successful. I feel very good at this club. It is true that there are occasions
[of not scoring], so I do not worry about my first goal, it will come very quickly.”
Despite many believing that Arsene Wenger would go on, and allow the forward to play the full ninety minutes againt Southampton, that wasn’t the case.
It was rather odd of the manager to leave the player out, but when talking about his decision to place the striker on the bench, the Gunners boss is reported to have said: "I felt that he is under much pressure at the moment and sometimes to get a little
breather is good. What I will do on Tuesday I honestly don't know. I just felt that the time has come for him to not be under too much pressure."
Giroud is now going to be looking to start in the upcoming game against his former club. Given the fact that he will be in very familiar territory, it is going to be easier for him to try and score his first goal for the club.
Nonetheless, it is now going to be a long and hard wait to see whether the striker manages to start scoring for the team in the near future or not.
