Arsenal have gone on to confirm that they have signed Olivier Giroud from Montpelier, as the player went on to complete his move to the club earlier in the day.
The striker had been pursued by the team for a couple of months now, but with the Euro 2012 taking place, the club had to wait for their turn to sign the player.
However, with http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 crashing out of the tournament early on, the North London club went on to waste no time in snapping up the striker, as they secured his transfer.
The French club’s representatives had previously hinted that the move was bound to be completed in the near future, but never really went on to put a date on when that might be.
The wait is now over, with Giroud being unveiled by the club’s official website and with Arsene Wenger and Giroud both commenting on his move.
The Gunners boss, Arsene Wenger, when talking about the move went on to state:  “We are delighted to have secured the signing of Olivier Giroud. He has a very good physical presence and is exceptional in the air, with a great work ethic. We are excited about Olivier joining us and he will add an additional dimension to our attacking options next season.”
When talking about his move to the club, the striker went on to admit that he couldn’t wait to get started as a Gunner and feels that he has a lot of work cut out for him, to please the club’s fans.
Giroud added: “I am delighted to be here at Arsenal and to be part of one of the great teams in English football. It's a huge satisfaction to join this great club and it’s been a dream since I was young to play in the Premier League.
His contract is set to start on the first of July, which means that he is more than likely to feature in some pre season games for the club, which will let the fans get a closer look at him and just what he is capable of.
Nonetheless, it is now up to the French international to make a name for himself at the Emirates, as he looks to secure his place in the http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arsenal-c38429 first team.
