The Siena boss has urged his players not to over analyse their defeat against Lecce; while reflecting on the Robur’s next Serie A game against Catania.
Siena manager, Giuseppe Sannino, is of the opinion that the Bianconeri cannot afford to mull over their defeat against Lecce, given the fact that they have an extremely important match coming up against
Catania.
The Tuscan side will host Gli Elefanti in the rescheduled game of matchday 21 on Wednesday, February 22.
Siena come into this game on the back of a 4-1 defeat at the hands of Lecce last weekend.  However, the Robur manager believes that the defeat will spur the Tuscan side to perform much better in the upcoming
game.
There was an appeal for a penalty in their match against Lecce, but the coach chose to take pragmatism into account, while also commenting:
“[Nicola] Rizzoli is one of the best referees and I’m sure he will have noticed the error when reviewing the incident. But now the case is closed and we head on to Catania.”
Sannino has respected the calls made by referees in the past, and when Juventus cried out for a penalty in their recent league encounter, he had the same opinion of respecting the match official’s decision.
The 54-year-old believes that the Catania side will be confident when they come to the Artemio Franchi, and has advised his players not to take the opposition complacently.
Commenting on his opponent’s recent match against Juventus, the Siena manager was full of praise for them, stating:
“Without [Marco] Motta’s sending off, [their] game [at Juventus] would have been different, because of their aggressiveness when they lose the ball immediately, which is comparable to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604.”
He recognized the threat posed by Catania’s wide men, stating that his players need “to do more in the mental aspect to stay vigilant” and be more proactive in reading the game.
The former Entella player is satisfied with his team’s performance so far in the season, conceding that they had worked extremely hard throughout the campaign.
