Siena manager, Giuseppe Sannino, is full of praise for Luis Enrique after his team’s win over the capital side on Monday, February 13.
Emanuele Calaio’s goal from a penalty in the second-half was enough to guide Siena to a 1-0 win over AS http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603. The Tuscan outfit continues their impressive form after a goalless stalemate against Juventus and a Coppa Italia win
over http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 recently.
Despite getting the better of the Giallorossi, Sannino is full of praise for Enrique, and insists that he is a great person and a top manager.
The manager went onto praise his team’s performance against La Maggica, and insists that they countered their attacking style really well. He believes that his team looked like a one unit and they sacrificed their individual game
for the team’s sake.
Sannino has urged his players to remain focused for full 90 minutes, and admitted that his team struggled in the final 15 minutes of the game.
While talking to the reporters, Sannino said,
“I continue to believe Luis Enrique is a great Coach and I respect him very much. I have to praise my players, who showed their willingness to sacrifice themselves in closing down every space.”
“Roma play an attacking style of football, so it was obvious the provincial clubs would face them by clamming up and going on the counter. In the last 15 minutes we struggled a little, but clawed our way through to get the three
very important points.”
After an impressive run of form, the 54-year-old has urged his team to remain humble and insists that they must focus on their next game.
“We did good work, but now have to turn over the page and look to the next game.”
Siena have further distanced themselves from relegation zone, as they have moved to the 16th spot. The Robur have picked up 23 points from 22 matches played in the league. They will take on relegation strugglers, Lecce,
in their next game on Sunday, February 19.
