The Bianconeri director believes that the Robur are quickly becoming the Udinese of coaches, and stated that he stopped believing in gratitude a long time ago.
Siena President Massimo Mezzaroma has finally released Giuseppe Sannino to Palermo, and expressed his profound anger through sarcasm on the manager.
The Robur manager will be the second official to leave the Bianconeri for the Sicilians, as they have already poached sporting director Giorgio Perinetti from the Robur’s ranks.
Mezzaroma stated with derision that Sannino and Perinetti both wanted to live near the sea, but warned that the Aquile are not in the habit of keep giving much love to their coaches and directors.
The President insisted that he does not want to get into an argument with the departing tactician, but deemed that if someone believes that Palermo is better that Siena, then history will prove him wrong. He mocked that getting sacked by the Eagles is no
longer considered an insult.
When asked if he believes that Sannino is being unthankful by leaving for Palermo, the President stated that he no longer believes in gratitude.
While talking to Radio Mana Mana, the construction tycoon said:
“Sannino and Perinetti both wanted to live by the sea, so I hope it’s like Love Boat, because at Palermo they don’t give much love to Coaches and directors. I certainly won’t get into an argument with Sannino. If he thinks Palermo is better than Siena, then
only history will be the judge of who is right. It’s true being fired by Palermo is no longer a stain on anyone’s record... Was Sannino ungrateful after I gave him his Serie A debut? I stopped believing in gratitude a long time ago.”
Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini had already confirmed Sannino as their next coach, even though an agreement was not in place.
Mezzaroma stated that the Eagles president is volcanic, and if he says he wants someone, he will go to great lengths to make it happen. The executive insisted that he is sure that the club will soon find a new manager to take Sannino’s place.
The Robur chief stated that it is disappointing to see that the Robur have become the Udinese of coaches, as they feel that they are being used by coaches to launch themselves into the stratosphere of football.
