Gonzalez played good in the first set but completely lost his game especially at start of the 3rd when he should have been able to break to love. Anyway say Roger had Rafa`s side of the draw and he was the one who had to play Novak in semis...what do you think the outcome would be ? Roger would probably pull through but a tough match for sure.

  1. Novak would give Federer a tough fight.  It might be a tough five-setter. 51% to 49% slightly winning chances for Federer

  2. i agree.  gonzalez is just too short tempered for his own good.  i was hoping this match would be a five setter. he needs to control his temper and just focus on his own game.  he always throw temper when he is playing well but still not good enough to beat the other players.  i definitely think he needs to see the sport psychologist because they should be able to help him with his own mental game.  i really hate to see him lose, but just fight till the end attitude would bring better results like other top players do.

  3. Federer would have much better chances against Djokovic if they met in the finals, but even now you can't really be so sure about that.  The top 3 are really close now and all three of them, Federer, Nadal and Djokovic, have this No.1 aura about them.  They are just in control on court and make themselves win.  But Federer is still in his own level that is rare.  Federer vs. Nadal in the finals?  The door is very much wide open for Federer to beat Nadal in the finals.  Federer is very very close.

  4. yes

  5. For me Federer's career is going to be all but over in the next 2 or 3 years and the French is the only slam he hasn't won.

I think this year he is solely concentrating on the French so as he becomes one of the elite who has won all 4 grand slam tournaments.

This year he has lost more matches than anybody expected, but is this his way of trying to lead the opposition into a false sense of security, and then blitz Nadal or Djokovic in the French final, or is the lack of match practice taking it's toll.

I suppose we will find out on Sunday.

  6. Novak would be a tough semifinal opponent for anybody.  We all know Federer got really lucky with his draw.

  7. Probably not.  I like Roger, and really dislike Novak, but I think Roger wouldn't beat him if they were to play each other right now.
