  1. Our Country  is basically an agricultural country. If the Govt. helps the poor family by allotting 1 or 2 acres of Govt. land will definitely solve the poverty in India.   If You visit rural India, you will find a number of people both men and women  in Agricultural sector working for daily wages.  All those families who ever own 1 acre or 2 acres, they will work hard and grow some agriculture crops and also they will continue to work in other fields for daily wages as usual.  So that they will improve their income and they will rest assure their bread and butter with their hard work.  But Govt.after allotting such land should develop some Irrigation Infrastructure such as Irrigation canals or boring facility for Irrigation water for a group of small farmers helped by Govt. and petty loans with meagre Interest for starting cultivation etc.  which definitely change the poverty since our most of the country's population lives in the rural India and also there will be increase in production of Agricultural crops either in food sector or in commercial sector.  Instead of keeping the land Idle It's better to improve the cultivation in the barren lands by the poor.

But the poverty eradication in India is not only depends on the land allotments, It's a  vast subject, it should be tackled in many ways by our Economists.  They have to find out many ways to bring the poor to above the poverty line.  We should encourage the Farming sector below poverty line with which we can achieve a part of struggle to get the poor above poverty line.  I wish all the best.

  2. Whether the incumbent is desirous for this dole. What he will do !He will wait till a reasonable rate is being offered to him. He will sell and again will come forward.

Indian system is divided into numerous field. The basic requirement was to expertise them in their own fields, that would have improved their skill in that particular field. The system in existence in Pakisthan, wherein traditional craftsmanship were imparted training of their own fields.

In India, kith and kin of farmers have been imparted academic education resulting into creation of big "fauj" of job seeker as "baboo". They cannot go to fields to till it and help their family. Neither they can be deployed as baboo, due to restricted post. Thus the policy of government picking them from fields, rather to train them has put to a great loss.

Providing land to needy and enthusiastic will do the needful. But to dole out to non deserving will be of no use.

  3. What a nightmare you are suggesting.  You would have worse poverty than you have now.  There also isn't enough government land to do this anyway.

India suffers because it is a socialist country by the terms of its constitution.  It suffers tremendously from this.   You would just add to the injustice of the system.

Think of your question another way.  Imagine you lived in a country with problems and the legislature had never met you, but decided to create a one size fits all solution to your personal and everyone's personal problems by disgorging state resources evenly to everyone.  Of course your personal problems may not involve land at all, as you might be a tailor, but you have to take the land anyway.  It might be nice, but the land isn't near your house.  Also, you will need to pay property taxes on it.  You could be a landlord, but you do not have the money to travel to the land, so it sits vacant or worse used by neighbors without compensation.  Who knows if they will use good planting techniques or deplete the land.

Finally, since agriculture is one of the most competitive businesess on Earth, why would it make sense for a tailor to try their hand at farming in competition with Archer Daniels Midland?

  4. I don't think that a family can survive on 1 -2 acres of land, in my opinion minimum agric land should be about 20 acres for an average family of five. The Indian families are often larger than this size, how can they manage a living on 1 -2 acres of land? When I worked against Socialism, I gathered a good quote, i would like to share with you..... If you demolish all the mountains in the world, you can not fill the sea. What shall be result, the mountains will vanish, but seas shall remain same deep. Sea is poverty, mountains are rich here.
