So many people say they like Obama but they don't have a GOOD reason. One reason was for Obama to keep Hilary out of office. Not a good example

    Why I support McCain-

    His military experience

    His pro life position

He is willing to be realistic about drilling and finding alternative fuel sources. He doesn't have rose colored glasses on and is looking at the short term and long term needs of this nation-not just "we need to find alternative fuel sources... we can't drill our way out of this problem..." to simply appease his "base".

He has crossed party lines many times and has had ringing endorsements by Biden, Hillary, and MANY democrats.

Palin also is willing to take on "big oil" and fellow Republicans to get things done properly... I admire that because THAT truly is political change we desperately need in this nation.

Add: Moonstruck-That money is SUPPOSED to fund the war. That's what it's for. And how many more BILLIONS does each state need for schools??? Each year they get billions, NEVER a penny less from year to year and yet, due to misspending and union thugs running the show, our children suffer. Schools could get every single penny in our state budgets each year and still it wouldn't be enough. It's not needing more money, we need more accountability of the funds and to kick out the thugs on the top in the NEA and teachers unions... but hush, let's not talk about that...

And one last thing. Since when doesn't EVERY single Senator and Congressman/woman not benefit from "big oil"? You're telling me that Barack wants to tax "big oil" beyond the 49% it already pays to punish them? How about do the math on how many BILLIONS our government is making each year on that evil industry... PLEASE, ALL our government salivates over "big oil"...

  4. Obama

    1. his concern for our school system

    2. he knows that our economy is hurting and has plans to fix it unlike McCain who believes it's okay

    3. his concern for our environmentnt and alternative resources

    4. his plan to end this war as quickly as responsibly possible

    5. his belief that million dollar corporations should pay more taxes than your average middle class citizen

  5. 1. He is not a socialist, as Obama is

    2. He is not a racist, as Obama is

    3. He has a temper, AKA human and is more concerned with telling the truth than what he thinks people want to hear and or is more concerned about the welfare of the entire country than the welfare of a specific group.

I know that these answers will get numerous thumbs down, but you know what, prove that they are wrong, offer proof not rhetoric

  6. 1. end the war in iraq.

    2. universal healthcare

    3. increase taxes on corporations and the wealthiest to balance the budget

  7. haha no one can give 3 legitimate reasons.

    Why?

Because Obama and McCain are both frauds...

    Wake up guys...wake up.

  8. I vote for Obama because

Centralize Ethics and Lobbying Information for Voters: Obama will create a centralized Internet database of lobbying reports, ethics records, and campaign finance filings in a searchable, sortable and downloadable format.

Require Independent Monitoring of Lobbying Laws and Ethics Rules: Obama will use the power of the presidency to fight for an independent watchdog agency to oversee the investigation of congressional ethics violations so that the public can be assured that ethics complaints will be investigated.

Shine the Light on Federal Contracts, Tax Breaks and Earmarks

Create a Public “Contracts and Influence” Database: As president, Obama will create a "contracts and influence" database that will disclose how much federal contractors spend on lobbying, and what contracts they are getting and how well they complete them.

Expose Special Interest Tax Breaks to Public Scrutiny: Barack Obama will ensure that any tax breaks for corporate recipients — or tax earmarks — are also publicly available on the Internet in an easily searchable format.

End Abuse of No-Bid Contracts: Barack Obama will end abuse of no-bid contracts by requiring that nearly all contract orders over $25,000 be competitively awarded.

Sunlight Before Signing: Too often bills are rushed through Congress and to the president before the public has the opportunity to review them.

As president, Obama will not sign any non-emergency bill without giving the American public an opportunity to review and comment on the White House website for five days.

Shine Light on Earmarks and Pork Barrel Spending: Obama's Transparency and Integrity in Earmarks Act will shed light on all earmarks by disclosing the name of the legislator who asked for each earmark, along with a written justification, 72 hours before they can be approved by the full Senate.

Bring Americans Back into their Government

Hold 21st Century Fireside Chats: Obama will bring democracy and policy directly to the people by requiring his Cabinet officials to have periodic national broadband townhall meetings to discuss issues before their agencies.

Make White House Communications Public: Obama will amend executive orders to ensure that communications about regulatory policymaking between persons outside government and all White House staff are disclosed to the public.

Conduct Regulatory Agency Business in Public: Obama will require his appointees who lead the executive branch departments and rulemaking agencies to conduct the significant business of the agency in public, so that any citizen can see in person or watch on the Internet these debates.

Release Presidential Records: Obama will nullify the Bush attempts to make the timely release of presidential records more difficult.

Free the Executive Branch from Special Interest Influence

Close the Revolving Door on Former and Future Employers: No political appointees in an Obama administration will be permitted to work on regulations or contracts directly and substantially related to their prior employer for two years. And no political appointee will be able to lobby the executive branch after leaving government service during the remainder of the administration.

Free Career Officials from the Influence of Politics: Obama will issue an executive order asking all new hires at the agencies to sign a form affirming that no political appointee offered them the job solely on the basis of political affiliation or contribution.

Reform the Political Appointee Process: FEMA Director Michael Brown was not qualified to head the agency, and the result was a disaster for the people of the Gulf Coast. But in an Obama administration, every official will have to rise to the standard of proven excellence in the agency's mission.

    Barack Obama's Record:

Federal Ethics Reform: Obama and Senator Feingold (D-WI) took on both parties and proposed ethics legislation that was described as the "gold standard" for reform. It was because of their leadership that ending subsidized corporate jet travel, mandating disclosure of lobbyists' bundling of contributions, and enacting strong new restrictions of lobbyist-sponsored trips became part of the final ethics bill that was signed into law. The Washington Post wrote in an editorial, "The final package is the strongest ethics legislation to emerge from Congress yet."

Google for Government: Americans have the right to know how their tax dollars are spent, but that information has been hidden from public view for too long. That's why Barack Obama and Senator Tom Coburn (R-OK) passed a law to create a Google-like search engine to allow regular people to approximately track federal grants, contracts, earmarks, and loans online. The Chicago Sun-Times wrote, "It would enable the public to see where federal money goes and how it is spent. It's a brilliant idea."

Illinois Reform: In 1998, Obama joined forces with former U.S. Sen. Paul Simon (D-D-IL) to pass the toughest campaign finance law in Illinois history. The legislation banned the personal use of campaign money by Illinois legislators and banned most gifts from lobbyists. Before the law was passed, one organization ranked Illinois worst among 50 states for its campaign finance regulations.

A High Standard: Unlike other candidates Obama's campaign refuses to accept contributions from Washington lobbyists and political action committees.

  9. MCCAIN'08

    1. Makes wise choices

    2. Has experience

    3. Has a GREAT VP choice

He is also a great speaker

  10. Pro-Obama because:

1.) He connects with the average working class & with that he can help make it a better society for us because with him coming from the similar background, it will help us because he will use his past experience & issues to pick us up. He understands & is truly concerned, I feel the dedication

2.) He will help us pull out of a war that we are not very capable of gaining a victory out of now. It would only be wise for us to get ourselves out of this problem because for one, you need money to fund a war and the funding comes straight out of the tax payers pockets, when that limit is up, we have to borrow from other nations and when we continue to borrow, that puts the whole nation in debt & we have to figure out a way of paying that country back.

Secondly of this issue, is that it is unfar to the soldiers. They have fought a great feat and done what they could, it's not very prospective that we will win this war, especially against a nation who is completely built on and used to violence. Sons and daughters want to come home and some will never come home the same or at all. They don't want to be killing or risk being killed. How do you think it feels to be a spouse or a parent and to receive that knock on the door? How do you think it feels to know that your friends who you are fighting with might not ever see you again or you may never see them? Or what about kids who may never have that parent return who left them to fight for their homeland?

3.) I believe that he can gain back the economy status to were it was before Bush's reign of terror. I believe that he can slowly fill that hole that was dug these past 8 years and make it back to were it is suitable for standard living conditions because people are losing and have lost jobs left and right & obviously the inflation is through the roof. What we can do in society or what we want to do rather, is very limited now days.

    --

Altogether, I feel his dedication to make a great change for this country & I can see it in his eyes and hear it through his words that he truly cares for this country's sake. Even Michelle is by his side to help make this change possible. He has the right leadership qualities, regardless of his experience, because really, who has experience in being a president? This dude knows what he is doing & he has my trust, I know why I support him and trusting your leader is most important.

My reasons are very valid and are beyond his race & his party and his name.

You can still have plenty of experience in American politics, but just because you do doesn't always mean that you posess what it takes to be  a leader and that you are always going to make the right decisions when you need to.

  11. Reasons why I support McCain:

    a)  On the economy, he knows that the best thing for it is for the government to just get the h**l out of the way.

    b)  On Iraq, he is the one who pushed Bush to implement the troop surge.  The surge has been wonderfully successful.   McCain knows the situation on the ground there.

    c)  On abortion, he is pro-life.   I was concerned he would pick a pro-abortion running mate -- but thankfully, he did not.

    .

  12. McCain is a man of integrity who has tackled reform on a bipartisan basis.

And there is no way I can trust a man who spent 20 years in a hate church, has a lifelong personal relationship with a known terrorist, and wants to bloat the U.S. government with more social programs.

  13. I was going to go independent at first, both sides leaned way too left for me, I WANT LOW TAXES, that WILL HELP the economy.

I did a ton of reading and the facts about Obama just scared me, he has too many sketchy associates in his present and past.  I was going against my judgment and pulling the lever for McCain, just to keep Obama out.  Then something happened, McCain announced his VP.  I did a whole lot of research and just got pumped.

    my 3 reasons:

1: National security, McCain gets it

    2: He will drill, hopefully

    3: He's not Obama

this link is one example of why I fear Obama winning he election

    http://www.newsmax.com/newsfront/obama_s...

  14. 1.  Pro LIFE

    2. Pro One Man One Woman Marriage

    3. Finish what we started.

    4. No increases in taxes

    5. More drilling without harming and using all our resources.

    6. Attacking Corruption

    7. She's Morally Sound

    Need More?

  15. Here's some good reasons:

    They're both running for president.

    They're both frequent spinach consumers

They both take Louisiana Hot Sauce Baths B4 giving a speech in the south.

  16. McCain over Obama:

    Better prepared.

    More experiance

    Not Obama

  17. Three good reasons for McCain:

    1. Associations

    2. Political positions

    3. Keeping Obama out.

  18. How about not getting this one near office?

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9H-btXPfh...

  19. 3 reasons why I like Obama:

    1) He was kinda poor when he grew up so he knows what the regular people are going through. (When I say regular I mean poor and middle class)

2)He has the right idea about the war

    3) He has the right idea about health care

  20. The necessity of winning in IRAQ as opposed to losing in IRAQ.

I can't stress this point enough--to lose in Iraq to radical Islam will doom the USA to constant  and ever escalation of war with every p**s-ant with OIL and a terrorist group to give money to.

The need to drill for oil inside the USA--Obama's sycophants don't have a clue about how much oil plays apart and everything that we use--and we just can't flip a switch and say--Tomorrow we are going to be on RENEWABLE ENERGY----you can't say that now--you won't be able to say it in TEN YEARS--or even 20.

OIL cost about 8 cents per KW.

WIND about 16 cents per KW

NUCLEAR about 3-8 cents per KW.

GUESS WHICH ONE OBAMA WANTS YOU TO SPEND YOUR MONEY ON to pay for your lights.

McCain wants Nuclear power as well as OIL as well as renewables.

    Third---Healthcare--mainly free healthcare.

I believe the Government is an inefficient and often bungling lethargic excuse for a business--the more money they suck in from us--the less we get back from them.--and once we commit the whole country--we will all get healthcare--a very poor healthcare system with a very high price--that once we commit will be doomed in an ever spiralling

And fourth--A baby is not a mistake--it's an opportunity to grow up

  21. I support Obama because:

1-He possesses an intellect which is far superior to those of McCain/Palin. (not just my opinion, look at his education, he was Presient of the Harvard Law Review) He was a Consitutional law Professor-(this is key for me bacause I believe that during the last 8 years, the Constitution has been disgraced by the Bush admin.)

2- He was the only candidate who did not support the decision to invade Iraq, a costly war which was waged illegally under false pretenses, and has contributed to anti-American sentiment throughout the world. He had the foresight to these problems before they even occurred. That is the judgement we need from our President during such uncertain times as these.

3-He overwhelmingly supports the development of new energy sources, and seeks to end our dependance or "addiction" to oil. (McCain has too many friends who stand to profit form keeping the oil addiction alive.)

I could go on and on...but I gave you 3 solid answers.

Looks like you've been talking to the wrong Obama supporters.

    YES WE CAN!!!

  22. Obama over McCain

    - Values that they country as a whole can agree with generally

    - Ready to reach out to other countries to become more connected with our allies and "so-called" enemies to reach understandings.

    - MUCH better VP pick than McCain's. You may say that VP picks shouldn't matter, but whether you like it or not, they do. If the President dies, I would think that that the American public would have to be generally at ease at the service the "backup" will provides.

  23. Ok the reason I am voting McCain is because of the fact that he is not a socialist, and has the military experienc obama lacks. He wont take away my second ammendment rights and intends to let me continue to chose who i want to have for health care. And yes he did vote with bush 90% of the time, but so did everyone else. He actually differed from bush more often than Obama did. I just do not believe he is ready to be president. I think he has nice ideas but no real way to implement them and they are for the most part un realistic. And the fact that people like Fidel Castro supports him scares me to be honest. He would be a puppet to other nations, and they could easily intimidate him and i dont think our president should be intimidated.

Sarah Palin is a good choice not because she is a woman but because she is qualified. I dont want to talk about her experience being more qualified than obama because you will just disagree. But She is very conservative and has very similar views to McCain. She was chosen because she has a brain, not a v****a and I am so beyond sick of hearing that the only reason is to sway HC voters. She is pro life, pro guns. pro oil, and has the attitude I think our VP needs. I am sure she will learn anything she lacks under McCain and will do so quickly.

I think that over all they are the better choice. And they are the only real alternative to Obama who speaks about allllll this change and then chooses Biden. He is constantly changing his mind depending on who his audience is and what other democrats tell him to do. I cannot support him especially because my gut just plain tells me not to. I cant help that i see through his lies and fresh face.

  24. Obama

    Health care for everyone.

My brother will come home from Iraq.

    The economy will get better.

and as much as I am proud of Obama I have to say another huge reason is because I'm truly afraid of what 4 more years of republican rule will do to America.

  25. I can tell you why NOT to support Obama-

    1. Nationalized health care- America has the best health care system in the WORLD. Why do you think everyone comes from other countries- to get treatment! In addition, the government just cant fund hospitals with money that grows off of trees. We will be taxed more than you have ever been taxed before

    2. Experience- Obama has not even served a full term as Senator

    3. Knowledge- When asked "when does life begin?" he responded "thats above my paygrade."

Exuse me, if you want to be the president of the United States you BETTER know when life begins. I am pretty sure my eight year old sister knows that answer.

  26. McCain:

    1. More Wars

    2. Less Jobs

    3. A Weaker Dollar

  27. John McCain is a man of character, who put his country above his life and health.  Senator Obama has demonstrated his character by his associations with Reverend Wright and William Ayers and others, and his willingness to dissolve those relationships because they are poltically damaging.

John McCain is a true fiscal conservative, willing to champion the rights of our citizens above party politics.  He believes and defends our country's military strength as a means to furthering civilization in the world and to tear down tyranny and militant aggression wherever it is found.

John McCain is a leader who can mobilize leaders on both sides of the aisle towards any goal which benefits all of America.  Senator Obama has no such experience, and from all evidence seems to be a strict Democrat without regards to how his politics effects individual men and women and their families.

  28. I will vote for Barack Obama because:

    1) He is serious about ending the War in Iraq.

    2) He has fought on behalf of more issues relevant to average Americans, such as civil rights, better housing, against racial profiling, better healthcare coverage, lowering taxes for the working class and he's pro-choice.

    3) He is not a copycat of George Bush.

  29. Obama:

    1. end the war in Iraq

    2. end our dependence on oil

    3. better education for all kids regardless of economic background

  30. Barack obama is black.

    Barack rasies taxes

    He is Cool

  31. Obama,

granted, he was not my first choice, however:

--he is NOT anything like Bush

    --He is pro-choice

--Favors equality in terms of equal rights (g*y marriage type of thing)

    --Values education

--Does NOT want to put all of our money in the military, thus taking it away from the places that really need it--like EDUCATION (the thing that will really make america top)
