And don't just say, "Because Republicans suck" or something uneducated like that. I want concrete facts as to why Obama is the better candidate. Please support your answer with details.

  1. Take an honest look at how things have been for you during the last 8 years. Consider your employment status, your family's income, housing situation, debt status...the whole picture. Then ask yourself, are you truly better today than you were eight years ago?

Then ask yourself about how you feel about your country? Do you feel that American prestige has been lost over the last 8 years? Do you support the war in Iraq? Do you believe that the Bush administration lied or told the truth about Saddam Hussein being a threat to the US?

If you are satisifed with the status quo, you don't mind paying $4/gallon for gas and of course, the trickle down into other commodities (are you paying more for groceries, minus adjustments for normal inflation than you were in 2000?), fear that your home might face foreclosure and you feel that the country is headed in the right direction, then vote for McCain. He seems to think that everything is okay with America.

But if you've seen your family income drop, the prices of everything go up, the wasting of billions of dollars on a war we should have never started in the first place, the loss of American prestige on the world stage, our dependence on foreign oil while Exxon has record profits and a host of other issues, then just say ENOUGH and vote for Obama.

I haven't even touched on social issues but the economic and foreign policy issues should be more than enough to sway any voter.

  2. Educate yourself or don't vote

  3. If you haven't checked him out for YOURSELF instead of getting bias answers you should be ashamed

  4. I am voting for him b/c he is by far the best candidate, his economics/tax plan has been verified by moneymatters.com, money.cnn.com and 2 nobel prize winning economists as being the best plan for voters making under 250,000. http://money.cnn.com/2008/06/11/news/eco...

I don't think you should use YAnswers as your source for 'concrete facts' as few people have any facts to give. I also think you should look into the issues that matter to YOU most and vote according to who will work to make the things you care about a reality. Take care!

    Obama/Biden 2008

  5. I like Obama for various reasons.

    His stance against lobbyists.

His work in ethics reform in government.

His hands-on experience with the American people as a community organizer.

His Constitutional law experience as a Constitutional lawyer.

His ability to bring people of all cultures and philosophies together.

His judgment on foreign policy decisions when everyone else "goes with the flow".

His Energy plan (which you can see at www.barackobama.com).

His ability to work with the enemy.

His willingness and intelligence to build international coalitions and seek peace through strength, not through arrogance and invasions.

His Tax plan (which is similar to Bill Clinton's in the 1990s...remember those days???)

    I could go on...and on...

  6. Look into it yourself, we all did.

  7. John McCain rubberstamped the Bush agenda 90% of the time - that includes IMPORTANT issues like Iraq, Medicare, the "energy" policy, and tax breaks for the rich.  Isn't that enough for most of us?
