  1. Lasik surgery is very safe nowadays. My cousin got her dental implants and Lasik surgery in India by a company called Indian Health Guru Consultants. The Price for dental and Lasik surgery is very less in India. She paid 25% of the price she was quoted in America.

Indian Health Guru Consultants is very famous in India They arrange Dental surgery, jaw surgery, Lasik eye surgery, Dental Implants etc for foreign patients in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and magazines- about their patient stories.

They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low cost, as dental and eye surgery is not covered by insurance. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

  2. They cut a flap on the surface of the eye to get underneath to remodel the tissue (Lasik). I considered having it done to correct my eyesight but I think you have to be awake for the whole thing and noone is coming near my eye with a knife when I can see it! lol

  3. there is a chancee of blindness if the doctors make a mistake

  4. By "long sight vision" I suppose you meant you are near sighted. That's what I was with the added bonus of astigmatism. I actually joined the cattle call and went to Dr. Boothe for Lasik this past October. Basically, 8 years of wearing glasses was gone in about 4 minutes time. The only part that sucked (besides the price $3300) was the 7 second procedure of actually slicing the flap on your eye that they fold back. A device is placed over your eye area that holds your eyelid open (like in the movie Minority Report) this does not hurt. A laser device is then hovered over you and sucks your eye up, slightly, against a flat surface. While the surface of your eye is now temporarily flat, a quick laser makes the flap. The machine releases your eye from the suction. Now, all of that I just said takes about 7-8 seconds. During the suction part is what hurts, it feels like someone is gouging your eye in with their thumb. The corrective surgery part is totally painless however, you just look up at a blinking light, you hear a bunch of clicks, then the doctor folds the flap back over your eye. Done. Instant 20/20
