Question:

Give me some hard science behind your global warming opinion?

Lately, I've been hearing a lot about global warming. A lot of the people I talk to seem to be convinced that global warming is a creation of Al Gore or that in 30 years the world with be destroyed because of our earth destroying deeds. But no one really ever seems to have anything to back up their opinion with. It seems like they just woke up one morning and decided to either belive in global warming or not to.

So I want to hear what you have to say. Give me your view and global warming and then give me the SCIENCE behind what you say. I don't care which side you take because I personally don't know which side I'm on. Convince me to take up your views.

But if you can't back up what you say with hard evidence, sit down and shut up.

  1. It's a scare tactic.   George Bush said it's not true.  I believe him.

  2. Well, I'm just a teen, but from our science book there are tons of things it describes in detail that could cause our climate change. Honestly I can't justify picking one side! To think that “Its' all our fault” is stupid but thinking that “we have no effect” is, too. Whatever you do, think about what you hear on here. Some of the stuff from my book was about maunder minimum. You could look it up if you wanted more info. The most I can remember is that there are sunspots that have a seven year cycle. The period where there are no sunspots is colder than the period with them, I think. The period with no sunspots is called a Maunder minimum. We could be at the opposite of the Maunder minimum. Just a thought. Another one I thought about was the earth’s orbit. The Earth’s orbit is constantly changing shape, by how much, I have no idea. But there is a 26 thousand year cycle of the earth’s orbit going from a circle to an ellipse. The Earth also has a cycle, of how long, I forgot, of tilting and then wobbling. I don’ t know how to describe it, so look it up too. Sorry I’m a little rusty in the memory department, but I hope I could help you out a littlewith what little hard evidence I have. I hope you become a smart thinker when it comes to what Al Gore spoon feeds people. Don’t just absorb what yur told. Think about it. Also maybe you don’t need to pick a side. When it comes to Al Gore, email me and I’ll tell you why I hate him and his movie (cuz its lies) more than heck itself.

  3. Read Al Gore's book.  He backs up his claims with science in it.

  4. Simple observation. The glaciers are retreating.

Ice melts when the temperature warms up. When temperature is observed to go up then it must be concluded that global warming is a reality.

Global warming has been going on for a long time: the glaciers once came as far south as Toronto.

If the glaciers advance then we can conclude that global cooling is a reality.

The fact is that glaciers have retreated and advanced many times during earth's history. Therefore it can be concluded that global warming is part of a natural cycle.

Al Gore and the rest of the ignorant greens would have you believe that you are personally responsible for melting the glaciers. What a load of c**p.

The Fraser River Flooded in 1948. There are no records of the snow pack that led to the disastrous spring freshet in that year. Since the flood there have been efforts made to measure snow pack and model the conditions leading to flooding. The snow pillows are scattered throughout the Province of British Columbia. Every year one or another snow pillow measures record high or low snow levels.

The point is that the scientists don't have enough data to determine the snow conditions that led to flooding in 1948. The paucity of climate records is global. So how can people determine whether or not the climate conditions we are experiencing today are normal or not.

The thermometer was invented in 1638. That means no where do temperature records exist for more than 400 years. What is 400 years in the timelessness of earth? Even man's history is more than a hundred thousand years.

The global warming theory where human activity is the sole driver, as presented in the green agenda, is a hoax being promulgated for the purpose of gaining political power. The Green fascists are lying to us to gain political power. That alone should be a cause for concern.

  6. TOO MANY F1 RACES

  7. Al Gore's not a scientist, though he's paid off a bunch of loose-minded ones to work for him.  Want the real facts by a group of 100% scientists and no politicians?  Google the Manhattan Declaration.  It's got the facts as they really are.

  8. Real, mostly caused by us.  The proof is massive, and it's in the links (there's much too much for here).

"I wasn’t convinced by a person or any interest group—it was the data that got me. I was utterly convinced of this connection between the burning of fossil fuels and climate change. And I was convinced that if we didn’t do something about this, we would be in deep trouble.”

    Former NASA Administrator, Shuttle Astronaut

Here are two summaries of the mountain of peer reviewed data that convinced Admiral Truly and the vast majority of the scientific community, short and long.

There's a lot less controversy about this is the real world than there is on Yahoo answers:

And vastly less controversy in the scientific community than you might guess from the few skeptics talked about here:

EVERY major scientific organization has issued an official statement that this is real, and mostly caused by us.  The National Academy of Sciences, the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the American Institute of Physics, the American Chemical Society, the American Geophysical Union, the American Meteorological Association, etc.

  9. I summarized the science in the wiki article linked below.

  10. What about....it's not because of the CO2 raising....it's proven that it ONLY raises AFTER heat increases and it's not something that raises tempature. I was watching a LOT of youtube and googled vids about it and that seems to be one thing that I noticed that seemed to stick out. That and the fact that global tempature increases AND decreases have always been happening and people jumped to conclusions that global warming and another ice age is going to happen ever since 1890's. ^_^

Oh...and about Al Gore....he seems to be the king of the word "If"....

Oh yea....the proof/evidence thingy.....check out "global warming hoax" on google or youtube....that video kinda stuck out....and....if you wanna see AMAZING information about the whole thing....check out this link and check out his videos. It's very informative and he's silly too ^_^ makes it fun ta learn about it.

He thoroughly talks about global warming and he's not boring to watch and learn from. ^_~

  11. I believe in climate change, being the natural progression of the climate. The climate always fluctuates and has done for centuries, at the moment we are seeing an increase in temperature but sooner or later the climate will decrease in temperature (ask any geographer to confirm this and they will)

Scientists have discovered that the weather is linked to solar flares.

I think that we are experiencing climate change rather than global warming, and my issues with non-renewable resources being used such as petrol etc. is more to do with the issue of 'what will we do when it all runs out?' rather than our affect on the climate.

    Hope I made sense :S
