  1. 1.  Find a recycling center near you.  (I don't know where you live, or I could help you).

    2.  Find out what that recycling center accepts.  For instance, some centers take only certain types of plastic and certain colors of glass.

    3.  Most centers accept:

         a.  Glass, clear and colored (i.e., food jars).

         b.  Aluminum cans.

         c.  Tin cans (i.e., green beans, soups)

         d.  Plastics.  Plastics are coded 1-7 (look on the bottom   for the number).  Some centers accept all plastics; some accept only a few.

         e.  Paper.  Newspapers, notebook paper, even  magazines.

         f.  Cardboard and pasteboard.  This includes the       corrugated cardboard in big boxes and the smooth   cardboard (i.e., cereal boxes).

    4.  Take your recyclables to the center!

We recycle all the above at the center my husband and I run.

Thanks for your interest in recycling!

  2. lol

  3. be creative and be zealous! for example, a can could be a pencil case by designing it. Thats how it goes

  4. Separate-aluminum, paper, plastic, organic, and other. The first three can be taken to a recycling center, and you can use the organic waste to make your very own compost pile. The other pile-see if any of if can be re-used for something else. Why stop at recycling? Use re-usable canvas bags when shopping. Exchange all light bulbs in your house with compact fluorescent. Turn down the temp on your water heater. Lower the temp on your thermostat during the winter and raise it in summer. Limit yourself to 5 minute showers. Turn off lights in rooms that aren't being used. The possibilities are endless, and they're so easy! There's only one Earth, and it's up to us to be proactive now to save it.

  5. Heres a hint...

RECYCLE...is that a big enough hint?

What kind of question do you need HINTS for?

  6. Save your aluminum, paper and plastic. You can sell the aluminum, and drop off the paper and plastic at a recycle place.

  7. recycle EVERYTHING that can be recycled and crush it all so its easily compactable in a recycling bin

  8. I'm so glad to see this header!  Part of my job at one time was to inform children and teens on how they can help with recycling, reusing products in an all ready polluted world.  Sadly, while America has started to come to grip with the use of plastic, styrofoam, paper and glass, we are still one of the main users and polluters of the world.

    In our home:

Children used the same book bags, rather than purchase one every year.  I bought sturdy canvas book bags for all three, about ten years ago, they all still have them.

Jute grocery sacks save plastic grocery bags, or keep your grocery bags either return them or reuse them.

We don't use take out food containers with styrofoam.

We purchase items with the least packaging.  The price includes packaging, so save yourself a dime.

All plastic food containers, bottles, shampoos, purchased in plastic are rinsed out and bagged to through in the recycle bin.

We purchase very little in glass or cardboard.

Look at a container before  you buy.  Figure if it can be reused.  Coffee in cans, the cans can be reused for storing penciels, crayons, craft stuff.  Yogart containers make good started containers for plants.

Instead of paper towels in a kitchen, buy a nice set of kitchen towels.

Using low sudsing detergents will help prevent water pollution.

Plant a small garden or a tree, we emit carbon dioxide with every breath, plants emit oxygen.

We plan to use straw bricks to build a home, next summer.  The straw will be grown on our propery, baled and strung tight, and stacked to build walls.  Using stucco, they are nearly rodent proof, and fire proof because they are packed tightly.

Lastly, if someone you know is having a baby, subscribe to a diaper service, instead of using disposalbe diapers, that end up never rotting in a land fill.

    Good luck!
