Give me some info on earthquakes and how they start pleas?

Earthquakes occur when the plates beneath the ground shift.    The San Andreas fault is famous for being the biggest line of unstable plates.

  Sometimes a plate will try to slide under another one or both plates will move further away from each other. This causes the shift, creating an Earthquake.

  Tsunamis and tidal waves can result from these earthquakes.  Often times, many earthquakes will occur far out in the ocean deep beneath the sea.
