What do people mean when they say "Give my regards to broadway"? I know it's a song, but what to people mean when they say it?

    Good question.. .When someone has a swell-head and thinks he or she is it, that is an expression that you tell them so their head gets deflatted a little.

    Obviously, they will never go to broadway and secondly, they don't know actors. That is the catch on that phrase.

    It's not an insult but they will catch on fast on what you mean.

    It's like the other expression 'Take a hike". Obviously, the person won't take it literally and go hiking on the highway will they?


  2. "When you are famous, say hi to the rest of the Broadway stars for me" - as if those stars would KNOW the person who is telling you to do this.  It can also mean that the person telling you this misses all the sights from NYC - which was THEIR home town - and that they will be back soon - they hope.
