If trees are cleared entirely from the land dwellings are built upon, then children may never learn that trees can be climbed and they may get less exercise, as well.  

If all agriculture is banned from the residential area where children live, they may never know what it means to grow plants and food and raise livestock, and they may grow up believing that fruits, vegetables, and meat all come from supermarkets.  When such kids get lost in the woods or a park they may be entirely unaware that they can survive on berries and nuts picked off bushes and trees and they may die.  

If kids are told that the stream running by their home or homes is polluted, they may not realize that in an emergency, like when they're lost in the woods, they can drink the water from a stream if they are thirsty, and still live.  

If a neighborhood is cleared of birds for health reasons, children may not know that birds (of certain kinds) can be kept as pets, so when they finally have a chance to have a pet, they may not know that birds are a reasonable choice.  

If kids live in a development where the owners or the city are always sending exterminators around they may think that all insects and all rodents are bad, so they may freak out at seeing either, or they may start telling people who are used to them that they are dangerous when they are not.
