  1. sin^ -1 (0.5) = 30º AND 150º

    You can find this with a calculator.

    180º = PI radians

    So, to convert the value of 30º and 150º into radians, we can multiply the value by 1 (but in a different way)

    Because 180º = PI radians, PI radians / 180º = 1

    We can multiply 30º by PI radians / 180º to get the answer.

    30º * PI radians / 180º

    30 * PI radians / 180       (the degrees value is canceled out)

    3 * PI radians / 18

    PI radians / 6

    The answer for 30º is 1/6 PI radians

    150º * PI radians / 180º

    150 * PI radians / 180       (the degrees value is canceled out)

    15 * PI radians / 18

    5 PI radians / 6

    The answer for 150º is 5/6 PI radians

    ======================================...

    tan^ -1 (-5) is not possible as far as i know.

  2. Inverse trig functions mean :

    sin^-1(0.5) means the sin of what angle equals .5

    sin 30 degrees equals .5 so the answer is 30 degrees or pi/6 radians.

    Grab a graphing calculator and type in tan^-1(-5) to get your answer, then change the mode to get the other answer in degrees and radians.

    Good luck to you !!
