Question:

Given the predominant view of key scientists, politicians and business leaders is action now inevitable?

It seems to me that we have, or are very close to, an overwhelming consensus in the key circles that matter. Does a vociferous minority of people who deny human influence on global warming on the sidelines matter more ultimately than the minority who were against the compulsory wearing of seatbelts. OK this is a far more important and wider issue and will create more continuing controversy, but are the doubters now ultimately an irrelevance?

  1. Hello Robert, nice to see an intelligent new face... Your sharp!

Thought I might share this article, as many of the opposition claim the Antarctic is gaining ice not losing it. This place is not an extension of reality, so don't be surprised by some of the local wackos... they get old fast. Some just can't get enough and bounce back for more, like jello.

  2. There once was an overwhelming consensus of politicians, scientist, and businessmen that the science of Eugenics was real and look where that led humanity.

Do we want to go down the same road twice?

[Edit] You need to study your history.  Eugenics was supported by science, business, and politicians just like global warming is today.  There are still people who believe that you can breed traits in humans.

[Edit] Wrong - To forget history is damnation to live it again.  The argument is fully relevant.

  3. "The predominant view"? Are you kidding? Surely you jest.

It is obvious to a casual observer that very few individuals / governments / nations really believe in even global warming, much less Man-made Global Warming.

If they did, you would see drastic changes being made around the world. I see very little even being discussed about it, except places like this site.

  4. Yes, action will begin the day Bush leaves office.

  5. Nothing I haven't seen before...I just wish they learn how to wipe their own bot toms first. Here we go again with new mandates and regulations that we are going to have to pay for..."boy am I excited."I'd like to know where is that sewer system they been promising me for twenty years now....Old saying goes be careful what you wish for...you just might get it.Hope you make lots of money.

Edit: I'm not going to hang out with you guy's anymore,(Boy do ya'll ever get off the subject in a hurry)

    Ta Ta

  6. Ok check Dr. Jello to see the comparisons they need to make to  think they will have any relevance in the future:

    We call this MARGINALIZATION.

I nevertheless would like to mention that some skeptics ask good questions and contribute as such to the peer review (leading to corrections) of scientif work.

  7. Yes, the nosy busy bodies are determined to force their views on everyone else once again. The government will use the issue as an excuse to increase revenues. The scientists have sold themselves out to "the sky is falling" crowd for more grants to keep from having to find a real job. And the business leaders have been cutting deals to exempt their profits and put the costs and consequences on the working class and poor class. So the way is now clear to s***w the people of the old industrialized world while exempting the major polluters like China and India. You should be proud. But don't be to disappointed when this silly fad ends just like all the other silly fads have ended in the past.

  8. yes and yes. there will always be skeptics but as long as they don't prevent humankind from making the necessary changes they are in significant.

    edit.

jello can you please stop using that logical fallacy

    edit 2.

jello using your logic. Hitler was bad, he was a n**i he also believed in the supernatural. theists also believe in the supernatural. so all theists are n***s.

there were also plenty of scientists opposed to the ideals of eugenics at the time so it was far from the consensus you are implying.
