  1. I think somebody should remind Gordon Brown and all the rest of the PC Do-Gooders, that charity begins at home.

Haven't we got enough deserving cause's at home in the UK that need help, or is this just another feeble attempt of Gordon Brown trying to look good on the World stage.

This to me is like a kick in the teeth just when we in the UK need all of our resources to avert a recession, here he goes promising OUR HARD EARNED CASH to another country who almost certainly will squander it.

  2. No, it's a p*** poor idea....they have had enough from us in the past and managed to squander all of it!  Let's start giving the pensioners more money (they receive less than any other pensioners in the EU).  Gordon Brown and his cohorts are very free with taxpayers money...let them give some of their own wealth for a change.....enough is enough and we have given enough and I have certainly had enough of the sleazy NU- Labour!

  3. When Gordon Brown was in charge of the economy, he did stupid things like giving away our gold reserves for a pittance (selling when they were worth about one third of their current value) so I cannot see that he is any less stupid now that he is in charge of the country, if he wants to spend our money propping up a country that was only to glad to get us out ,when we cannot afford to look after our own citizens, the elderly, the sick and the children, then it is time to make a stand and ask, nay demand, a vote of no confidence in our leaders.

  4. Its a case of easy come easy go with Brown. All he has to do when he wants a bit more out of his cash cow is squeeze our pockets a bit harder

  5. Ask those MPs who have millions in investments in Zimbabwe. It's about business and potential profits. When did any UK government, New Labour or Tory, do anything that was purely altruistic?

  6. Yes, it's a good idea.  OK we're a bit pushed financially at the moment but it shouldn't make us turn our backs on the suffering of others.  We don't know the half of what this government spend our money on, and we'd probably be disgusted if we did.  Look at MP's - paying their families and lining their nests.  And people with all their money in tax havens - I'd rather keep my protests for that kind of thing.

  7. Depends on the economic goals. Are they shooting for a good economy or a bad economy? Currently, that would burden your economy so it looks like they are shooting for a bad economy. Long term, the economy would benefit due to influence, but thats about it and will most likely only benefit the rich.

  8. new labour are very free with 'our' the tax payers monies.

Yet 'we' bail out poor 'business' practise as taxpayers - Northen Pebble

  9. Personally, I would fill the potholes in our roads, and give us back a decent bin collecting system before I thought that I had the money to help others.

  10. Why not just let Africa fix their own problems for a change? We've been very willing to put money into the African continent, but to no avail. Let them handle this problem on their own, and instead have them ask if they need our "help".
