Giving a present to a girl?

Hello, I was told that if I'm just a regular friend with this girl, I don't need to give her a gift, but just say Happy Birthday, but one of my friend's friend asked me what I'm about to give her for her birthday. Does that mean I have to give her something?

you don't have too but you should give her something that pertains to and inside joke. She would love it.

You should out of respect and kindness, but that doesn't necessarily mean you have to buy her one...

You don't have to. If you wanted to though you could get her like a stuffed animal or her favorite candy.but you don't have to if you don't want to she will still look at you the same.

shes a "regular" friend so it dosent need to be anything extravagant.

but im a girl and i know getting a gift certificate to get my nails done does the trick.

Just give her small box or block of chocolate(s) or something similar that way its not too much but shows you care.

Its really up to you but girls like getting stuff!
