Question:

Giving my two weeks notice

I work at Subway and I am planning to quit because my supervisor quit few months back and everything changed. Now my manager is in charge. She cuts employees hrs back and dont put anyone in the middle to work. Making me and my coworkers work even harder. She is picky and demanding and writes warning for stupid reasons. I havent yet to receive one but I am afraid after I put in my 2 weeks notice what if I get fired or receive a warning. I am expecting the worst because recently an old coworker of mine already quit and we're 2 ppl short but I dont care. I just want to know what to do if something 'bad' happen how do I handle it if she makes me sign something. Yeah call me paranoid. But my manager is a b**** to everyone. I am one of the older employees there since a lot our workers come and go.

I live in CALI

I want to go back to school and maybe find another job if I can handle both. =)

I know she wont be really happy if I leave since I am an reliable worker.

  1. Explain, you are giving  her yout two weeks notice.

If she fires you, you're outta there, and it's her problem,  not yours.

If she's unhappy,  so sad, too bad.

  2. Turn in your two week notice in and dont worrie about getting fired because if they fire you then you can come back on them with a lawyer and Subway wont allow that to happen

    Good luck

  3. Find another job  ,Give notice  any problems.Let head office know. Subway has a good name and wants to keep  if your right they will  back you

  4. Your putting in your 2 weeks notice, and i really don't see her firing you. And so what if she does? You turn around and laugh in her face and say "Hello" you can't fire me, i quit "Remember"? she might be a royal bit*h, but i don't think she stupid.....

And as far as you receiving any kind of warning, after you give notice. Again i don't see it happening ( it wouldn't make sense, and "NO" she can't make you sign it) and it would be a total waste of time. And a waste of good paper, stop worrying and focus on going back to school.

Sure she might be upset at first but she will get over it, you can't stay in a job you longer like. Just to make someone else happy. And with a bit of luck, it just might hit her one day. That by being a royal bit*h she is losing good workers.....

  5. Depends on how badly you want to quit. No law requires you to give notice, nor does any law require that you sign anything.

Give the two weeks notice because it is the right thing to do. If she gives you a reprimand after you give notice, say o.k., smile and continue on your merry way since you will be out of there in two weeks anyways.

If she wants you to sign something, just say no. If things get heated, lay down your apron and be on your way out the door.

  6. Give your two weeks notice, and be a fantastic worker for those last two weeks.  Be on time, offer to help train a new person, etc.  Be professional.  Leave on a good note (even if your personal feelings are otherwise).  Your leaving will certainly frazzle your manager even more, so she may be vicious, but just "grin and bear it".  If something bad does happen before you leave, you can always try to find your old supervisor and use him/her as your reference.

Plus, you never know when or how you'll cross paths with a former employer or co-worker.  5 years from now, you may be applying for an absolute dream job somewhere, just to find out the old b***'s husband is the hiring manager!

As dorky as it may sound, use this as an opportunity to develop your people skills. Being able to work with, and work for, difficult people is an extremely important skill that is very valuable down the road.

  7. You just tell her your giving her your two weeks, if she gives you a bunch of problems, just try your best to ignore her. If she fires you, oh well you already quit. Have you tried contacting anyone above her, to let them know what is going on? Just remember its not going to look good on applications for quitting because you can't get along with the manager...
