  1. My mom started my baby brother on milk when he was 8 months old,

and yeah, it must be okay, cuz now my baby brother is running all

over the house as crazy as crazy can be.

  2. Are you asking about introducing small amounts of milk, or weaning completely?

If the former, it's fine if he has no allergies.

If the latter, it's best to keep him on formula or breastmilk  for at least that full year. He needs the nutrients in formula that aren't present in whole milk.

  3. I breastfed my daughter until about 10 months, but wasn't producing enough, so my doctor told me to supplement between Almond, Rice and Soy milk.  Not until after a year that we did whole milk.  My pedetrician is very into natural products and didn't particular like the idea of formula.  Good luck.

  4. nope, you need to wait until hes a year old

  5. Well I think its really up to you and your child's pediatrician.  When my daughter was 10 mos. old her pediatrician says it was ok because she was growing just fine with sufficient amount of iron in her blood.  Whole milk will not hurt your baby but if you want to start then I would start slowly with a half a cup of whole milk daily with formula of course and gradually increase it if your baby can tolerate it. Good Luck!

  6. Yes you can start mixing milk and formula starting at 10 months.

  7. you should of atleast already tried him on whole milk by about 10 months

  8. my son started whole milk at 11 months. It is perfectly ok. :-) Just remember to wean your child off formula first to avoid any adverse reactions. Also the introduction of whole milk may constipate your child...just fyi. Good Luck!

  9. My son went off formula milk when he was around 8 months so we switched to whole milk. He is now a strapping 14 year old with no health problems so i would say its fine.

Perhaps have a word with your health visitor to put your mind at rest.

  10. no, you have to wait until hes one years old.

  11. From what my doctors have all told me, its best to wait until the child is over a year before you start whole milk (cows milk). It will be easier for your toddler to digest it and easier to tell if the milk will cause intolerance or allergies. Good luck.

  12. Go ahead and give him a bottle to see how he tolerates it. Every child is different. If he throws it up or has loose and mucousy stools then wait a few more months. If he tolerates it then there is absolutely no reason that he cannot have it. By 11 months babies are eating a lot of other foods anyway. Just absolutely make sure it is whole milk because 2% has a much higher ratio of sodium and that can be hard on a little childs kidneys. Oh, and yes I switched my son at around 11 months to whole milk.

  13. no.... there body cant handle something in the milk, im not guessing, i heard it somewhere, somewhere important that is lol, just cant remember, anyways i wouldnt test the milk thing, if you really need to put him on milk id call his doctor, it wouldnt hurt to just ask
