Gladiator beast gyzarus and six samurais?

Question

I just have special summoned gladiator beast gyzarus. In the opponent's side of the field there are: a great shogun shien, a grand master and a zanji. The target is shogun and zanji. Can i destroy zanji instead of shogun or it is considered that they are destroyed, so i can also target grand master?

If both Zanji and Shogun are targeted, then they are both destroyed. You can target Grandmaster, but when he's destroyed by card effect, he can add any Six Sam from the graveyard to your opponents hand including himself.

You cannot switch the target from Shien to Zanji since Zanji is going to be destroyed anyways. You may, however, switch the destruction to the Grandmaster, but since he is technically being destroyed by the effect of your Six Samurai monster (or Shien) his effect would not activate.
