Gladiator beast question?!?

Question

you know in the card when it says if this card attacked or was attacked ect ect. what if its in the graveyard during the turn it was attacked can i use its effect still to get a new gladiator beast on the field.

The card has to stay on the field for its effect to resolve. When it says "attacked" it is saying if a gladiator beast, mainly Homonphulos, gets attacked, since it has a high defence that means that it will more then likely live the attack, and thusly get its effect.

no because the gladiator beast card rulings only work on the field not to mention the say at the end of the battle phase return this card from the field to the deck to summon another gladiator beast etc. the only exeption to theis rule is the gladiator beast secutor because he stays on the field when he gains his effect to special summon 2 more gladiator beasts from the deck. but all in all no gladiator beast effects do not work in the graveyard

no you can not
