Gladiator’s tactician Chris Larson hopeful to regain top spot: 2011 Audi TP52 World Championships
At the end of first day of the 2011 Audi TP52 World Championships at Porto Cervo, Great Britain’s Gladiator was leading the standings with four points after an impressive sail on Costa Smeralda waters. However, they could not maintain their position on second
day, as they tumbled down to second place with 8 points after finishing fourth in the only race of the day.
Gladiator tactician, Chris Larson still hopes for a superb finish at the conclusion of the event, as he believes their team has the potential to hit the top spot. The British team is happy with their performance so far and are looking forward for a better
finish.
While speaking to local media at the conclusion of Day 2, Larson said, “We are pretty happy coming off the water today. We had one of the best starts ever for the boat, a bit conservative coming off the middle of the start line, but the unfortunate part
was the right side coming in strong and we were kind of on the outside of that, but we were OK with that we were sailing a nice conservative race.”
He added, “Right now everyone is full of energy because we did well yesterday and had a solid race today. Success breeds success and hopefully we can come up with a good finish at the end of the event. I told the guys on the way if they knew they would be
in second after the second day of racing they would be pretty darn happy.”
