Glamorgan's skipper Alviro Petersen upset with poor form: Cricket News
South African opening batsman Alviro Petersen has expressed disappointment over his poor run of form in the recent times. He is currently taking part in the County Championship matches in England, as the captain of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Glamorgan-c784. However, the South African has
failed to make a big impression until now.
Commenting on a social networking website, Petersen stated, “I'm playing the worst cricket of my career, people always upset with me, responsibility, some like it when I fail. Can't get worse, I will never quit though and will only take those with me who
support me.”
Petersen started off his campaign as player on a positive note. He scored 91 runs in his debut innings, but was unable to guide his team to victory in the match. The stylish right-handed batsman was dismissed after scoring 22 runs in the second inning and
his team failed to chase down a target of 226 runs against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Leicestershire-c807.
Although Petersen was not successful in his first game as a captain, Glamorgan’s coach, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Matthew-Mott-c1928, was impressed with his batting display and leadership skills. Mott urged the players to follow the foot-steps of their captain and learn to cope with pressure
situations.
However, things didn’t go well for the South African after his strong opening in the first match. He managed to get starts on most occasions, but was unable to capitalise and score a big one for his team. His last failure came against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Essex-c783, when he was
dismissed for 17 in his second innings on Wednesday, April 27. Earlier, he was sent back to the pavilion after adding 21 runs to the total in his first outing of the same match.
Edwards Bevan, who is a sports journalist in a UK based media group, has been following the County Championship matches and stated, “Since starting with a 91, he’s (Petersen) failed in every innings. He’s just feeling low at the moment, but I don’t understand
his comment about everybody being against him.”
The 30-year-old felt immense pressure and stated that it was hard for him to get rid of poor form. He claimed that there was very less support for him and most of people were against him.
