The Charlie Lister trained, Glanmire Phanter, is backed by 11 to 8 odds for the contest tonight and will race out of the fifth gate.
The two-year-old black dog has been striving to maintain a certain bench mark since the last four attempts.
Killahan Phanter’s son was dominant in the Grade OR Coors Northern Sprint Heat 3 on 30th October, 2012 at Sheffield over 280 metres.
Taking off from the third trap, the two-year-old set into an early pace and then led on from the first position, concluding the race in 16.01 seconds.
His lead of the final 2 ¾ lengths set, Jumeirah Dubai, as the runner-up of the race.

The two-year-old out of, Black Cue, bagged the prize money of the second heat of the Betfred Sprint Trophy on 12th November, 2012 at Nottingham over 305 metres.
Breaking out of the fourth trap, the favourite entry kept on with the leading role from the post to the pole, making the transit to the other end of the wire in 17.73 seconds.
Missing the winner’s crown by the mark of 2 ½ lengths was the fifth trap, Headford Jack.
His most recent try in the Betfred Sprint Trophy Final failed to the third position as the race was won by Whack Wallop in 17.76 seconds.
It is not the first time that he will race out of the fifth trap.
