Somebody told me something strange he said Glaswigians are like Scouser and it sounds very odd.The only think Glasgow & Liverpool have in common are one people came over from Ireland to work in Liverpool & Glasgow. And Bill Shankly is from Glasgow and took Liverpool to victory as a manager.

But he says there is a connetion between Glasgow & Liverpool people and there the same but it sound rubbish to me what do you think.

  1. The biggest connection would be religion I believe.

Both Liverpool and Glasgow have strong Irish connections as you say and this also results in strong divisions along religious lines. Catholic and Protestant Cathedrals in Liverpool are very prominent and we all know about the divide between the religions of Rangers and Celtic football clubs.

  2. they're both from north uk so as far as im concerned there the same. i hate northerners.

  3. Albo's answer about religion is a good one.

They're similar cities in terms of their industrial and working-class histories, their social set-up and their size.

But then many people around Britain are all the same nowadays. Group-wise we all speak the same language, watch the same TV, go to the same shops, wear the same clothes. Generally speaking that is.

  4. nothing alike

  5. The people of Glasgow and Liverpool are very friendly and understanding. I love them

  6. Everyone report Fred87 for his recism and bigotry.

  7. One of my favourite memories is when I was working security at a Celtic V Liverpool friendly a few years back. Parkhead is a 64,000 cap stadium, and it was packed one half Celtic supporters holding up the flags and scarves and the other, Liverpool fans holding theirs up too. Celtic and Liverpool both have the same theme song, "You'll Never Walk Alone", and Hearing that whole place sing in one voice was so amazing, I nearly cried. I was standing just off the pitch, so I had a 360o view. Everybody got on, no fights (a rarity, sadly) and the whole night there was a real feeling of family.

Simply amazing, but I can't really explain it.

  8. Nope...us Glasgow peeps have a MUCH better accent! lol xx

  9. very much so,  both have a similar Irish heritage and both used to have a good shipbuilding tradition and both cities have been decimated by the ignorant and unfeeling political classes of all persuasions.

If they were people Glasgow and Liverpool would be twins
