Question:

Glass's Guide?

I've noticed that some used vehicles are on sale in garages at WAY OVER the prices quoted in Glass's Guide. e.g. the Mazda MX5.

Will I be able to negotiate the price down?, this would be a cash deal with no trade in (UK).

  1. Of course you can haggle. Only the mugs pay the sticker price. If you can play one dealer off against another it's even better. The cooler you are the better. Walk away if the deal isn't good enough. Always remember, you've got the cash and the choice, whereas they are stuck with the car. And times, for the dealers, are hard, very hard.

  2. if you`re paying cash, people will be willing to negotiate. if they wont accept your offer be willing to walk away and go somewhere else. garages usually ask higher prices so they can bring the price down.

  3. Yes definately especially in the current climate cars are not selling at the moment you should be able to knock a fair bit off. Also an MX5 and look at the state of the weather they will wanna get rid of it before the winter.
