  1. Float glass is produced by floating molten glass on a layer of molten tin.

    It flows along and is perfectly flat and at the end of the line it gradually cools and is cut in sheets.

    This glass is used in windows.

    When safety is required [as in car windscreens], several layers of this glass are layered with layers of clear plastic [lamination's like a liquorish alsort] and this glass does not break into big jagged dangerous bits if it breaks.
