Glen Davis out for 4-6 weeks
Orlando Magic have had a surprisingly good season considering their resources, but their march took a serious blow on Wednesday when their centre Glen ‘Big Baby’ Davis sprained his left shoulder in the game against the Washington
Wizards. The centre, who is having his career best season with 16 points and 7.9 rebounds per game, is expected to be out for at least 4 weeks, but can go till 6.
“After further evaluation by our medical staff, Glen Davis has been diagnosed with a left shoulder sprain,’’ Magic General Manager Rob Hennigan said in a statement on Thursday. “The MRI showed no significant structural damage.
He will be treated non-operatively. Treatment will include rest and subsequent strengthening of the muscles around his shoulder. His return will depend on progress made during his rehabilitation.’’
Had there been structural damage, Davis would have been ruled out for the season.
Derek Fisher to miss the next three games - at least
Dallas Mavericks point guard Derek Fisher has been ruled out for at least the next three with a right patellar tendon strain, he suffered in a game against the Philadelphia 76ers On Tuesday. The guard will be re-evaluated next
week and a confirm timetable for return will be given after that. Fisher, who averaged 8.6 points and 3.6 assists in 9 games, missed the game against Miami Heat, and will also miss the tough two game road trip to Memphis and San Antonio.
Derrick Rose on track with his rehab
Chicago Bulls is well on track with his rehab and will be available in the second half of the season. This was revealed by the Bulls coach Tom Thibodeau, who has marshalled his team to a 14-10 record so far this season. Coach Thins
however stressed that the star point guard won’t be rushed onto the court and every possible measure will be taken to ensure that a injury relapse does not take place.
