The Englishman says that Evra must’ve stayed up all night before the encounter between Liverpool and Manchester United to think of ways in order to incriminate Luis Suarez at Old Trafford in the English Premier League...
Glen Johnson’s latest remarks have added fuel to the fire which was almost doused concerned the racist confrontation between Luis Suarez and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Patrice-Evra-c29231 at the start of the Premier League season. When Manchester United faced Liverpool
at Anfield, Evra complained to the F.A in the aftermath of the clash between the two English giants that Suarez had racially abused the Frenchman during the match.
After a lengthy investigation, Liverpool’s striker was banned for eight matches as the Football Association took action against the former Ajax man. However the matter went from bad to worse when Suarez made a return from his eight
match ban against Manchester United at Old Trafford when http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 took on the defending Premier League champions at the Theatre of Dreams.
Suarez refused to shake Evra’s hand in the pre-match ceremony as United ran out as eventual winners against Kenny Dalglish’s men. Consequently, an apology was issued by Liverpool and Suarez also came out and apologized for his
actions. Now another twist has been added to this tale with Glen Johnson’s recent comments.
The Liverpool defender said, "Luis didn't shake his hand because Evra's hand was down there. What else is Luis supposed to do? Would you go to shake someone's hand if their hand is way down there by their side? Course not. But
then, because Luis didn't do it, Evra has pulled him back by his arm as he walked on, as if to say to everybody: 'Look, I wanted to shake his hand and he didn't..."'
He added, "Evra probably stayed up all night thinking about how to do that. The whole thing was ridiculous." It will be interesting to see whether or not Liverpool take any action against Johnson after his comments which have once
again brought the issue of racism in the world of English football back to the spot light.
