Liverpool’s full back, Glen Johnson has admitted that he wants the Reds to go on and win more trophies in the near future.
The Reds went on to break their six year trophy drought, as the team managed to beat Cardiff in the finals of the Carling Cup via a penalty shootout.
Following the win, many believed that Liverpool were now only going to focus on finishing in the top four.
However, it seems like the team is looking to win another trophy before the season comes to an end, along with claiming a top four finish.
The Reds are set to take on Stoke City in the quarter finals of the FA Cup and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Glen-Johnson-c15050 believes the team shouldn’t hold anything back, if they are to go on and win the game.
When asked whether he would be happy about winning the FA Cup, the full back is quoted to have said: “It would mean the world. That’s what football is about – getting to finals and winning these trophies.”
“That’s what it’s all about, that’s what we work hard for day in, day out.”
He then went on to admit that the reason for most players joining Liverpool, was the prospect of winning trophies. As a result he admitted that winning more trophies could attract more players, while help build on the clubs status.
“It’s what you join Liverpool football club for.”
“It’s a fantastic club, we’ve got some great stars and players and obviously with medals – the more the merrier”
The defender was then asked if he felt http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 deserved to win the Carling Cup, given the way Cardiff performed in the game.
In response to that, the defender said: “Words can’t describe it. It’s fantastic – it’s what the lads have worked so hard for and I think we deserved it.”
The Merseyside club are currently brimming with confidence and it is only a matter of time before this confidence starts helping them perform even better.
Nonetheless, it is now up to Kenny Dalglish to help maintain his team’s focus and guide them towards more success in the future.
