Glen McGrath tips http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 to regain Ashes, bashes critics
Former Australian pace bowler, Glenn McGrath has said that Australian side will regain the Ashes from England in this edition. Well-used to making some extreme predictions at the start of tournaments or
series, McGrath said that it was absolutely ridiculous to question Australia’s attitude in cricket.

McGrath’s comments come in the wake of some of the criticism that the Australian captain Ricky Ponting has copped from ex-players. Sri Lankan off-spinner http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Muttiah-Muralitharan-c78157 had earlier commented that the
Aussies lacked bowling talent. On the other hand, Michael Vaughan, who had helped England win their first Ashes in 18 years in 2005 had said that the side lacked penetration in bowling and that would prove fatal to Ponting’s captaincy.

McGrath was in a feisty mood while speaking to the
Sun-Herald and ridiculed suggestions that the side did not have it in them to win the Ashes.

He said, "It makes you laugh, doesn't it? They were [once] saying we were too arrogant; you can't win either way. It just amazes me when the Australian team was too strong, Number 1 in the world, it was
bad for world cricket, bad for this and bad for that but now because all of a sudden they've lost a few games, Australia is now accused of hurting cricket because the team isn't strong enough."

McGrath also cited statistics saying that Australia had a run of about 13 wins in a row leading up to their 10 winless games.

McGrath said that the bowling may not have done too well in http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 but on Australian tracks, bowlers like Mitchell Johnson, Doug Bollinger, Peter Siddle, Ben Hilfenhaus and Ryan Harris will find their confidence
and do well. Australia play the first Test match in Ashes against England from 25 November at Gabba in Brisbane. England had won the previous edition of the Ashes 2-1.
