The former Newcastle United manager has backed the Liverpool striker saying that he needs more time to make a good impact at Anfield and that could happen next season rather than this one for the Merseyside giants...
Andy Carroll has undoubtedly found it hard to make things work for him at Liverpool ever since his 35 million pound move to the Anfield from Newcastle United in the January of 2011. Carroll’s price tag has weighed in heavily on
his performance as the Englishman has been unable to perform up to the expectations of Liverpool’s fans.
In their recent defeat to Newcastle, Liverpool’s target man took a shameful dive in front of the gap with an open chance to score for his team. It was a new low for the youthful striker who had been touted up as the future of
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Liverpool-c39809 as well as the Englishman football last winter when Dalglish had secured his signature from the Magpies on deadline day of the 2011 winter transfer window.
It will be interesting to see how Dalglish deals from here on in with the enigmatic youngster who has had his off the field troubles as well during his time at Newcastle United. Glen Roeder, the former Newcastle United manager
who saw Andy progress through the Newcastle United youth system has come out and backed the goal scorer.
He said, "There is still a chance he could finish the season on a high with Liverpool but next season he really needs to take off there and be successful and aim to get into the team every week. Andy is struggling to justify his
price-tag but that does not mean to say that next season the players that have found it difficult in this first full season will not find their feet and fit into the Liverpool way of doing things.”
He added, "He burst onto the Premier League scene but he did not spend much time there with Newcastle before he was on his way to Liverpool for a huge amount of money and Newcastle have spent part of that money extremely because
their scouting system is brilliant."
