The Belgian trainer took the managerial hot seat at De Koel Stadion at the start of the ongoing season. However, following his side’s erratic results in the Dutch top tier, the young tactician decided to part ways with the outfit.
De Boeck emphasised that he has no conflict with the club management and his decision to resign lies totally with him.
“I cannot suggest what I want. It is a deliberate decision that lies entirely with me”, the 40-year-old was quoted as saying to the media.
The VVV management expressed disappointment his departure. Mario Captein, director of technical affairs, revealed that the Belgian's resignation has left them with an unpleasant situation and asserted that his side will appoint a new head coach at the earliest.
“It is an unpleasant situation, which has arisen after the resignation of Glen. We will do our best to find a perfect solution in the coming days”, Captein said while talking to the media.
De Boeck started his managerial career in the summer of 2005 when he was appointed as the assistant coach of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/RSC-Anderlecht-c40394. In 2007, he took over the managerial hot seat at Cercle Brugge, where he managed to achieve decent results.
He succeeded Jos Daerden at Germinal Beerschot at the start of the 2010/11 season. However, the club management fired him following a string of bad results and a conflict with management in November 2010.
VVV are currently struggling to achieve good results. With one win from 15 matches, they are sitting at the bottom of the league table, seven points adrift of the safety zone.
