Glenashe Rock to land the Coral Co.UK Hurdle at Hove on 29th March
Hove is to become home for the Coral Co.UK Hurdle over 515 metres hurdle on Thursday, 29th March. Participating in the event tonight are Glenashe Rock, Whiterock Champ, Baran Bally Hi, Royal Premium and Clonkeen Theo.
Leading with by far the best credentials for claiming the race tonight is Glenashe Rock, Hondo Black’s four-year-old black son out of b***h Meath Girl. Out of the nine times that he has raced, Glenashe Rock won through six outings.
His seasonal debut was not a victory as he finished second behind Billis Renegade who was done racing through the 480 metres hurdle track in 30.00 seconds on 5th January at Hall Green. However, the margin by which Glenashe Rock lost was only ¾ of a length.
He did not make the connections and the crowds to wait for long as on 11th January, the 480 metres hurdle at Wimbledon went Glenashe Rock’s way when he completed the trip in 29.81 seconds.
This victory was the starting string of the chain that combined three further wins, taking the total to a four.
Glenashe Rock struck the hat trick in the Coral Hove Hurdle on 2nd February at Hove over 515 metres. He was on the other end of the wire in 30.40 seconds, leading by 1 ¾ lengths. The runner up of the race, Aero Bolt, went through the same distance in 30.54 seconds.
Coming at terms with the third position was Baran Bally Hi who was entered into the race as the evening’s favourite.
Glenashe Rock bumped into a second position on 19th February and then tossed in two more victories on his record.
He won the Sittingbourne Hurdles on 26th February at Sittingbourne over 480 metres by timing the track distance in 30.00 seconds and the 2/7 favourite of the race was in lead of two lengths.
Finishing right behind the winner was Whiterock Champ while settling with the third position was Mullpark Too.
The sixth and till yet the last victory for Glenashe Rock came in the Evans And Day-Lunn Northcote Stakes on 3rd March at Wimbledon over 480 metres. The 9/4 favourite settled the race in 29.49 seconds while Crofter followed right behind.
Losing the very recent race has given Glenashe Rock all the more reason for bagging the race tonight.
